The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce proudly unveiled a Walk of Fame star for actress Mariska Hargitay on Friday, November 8 at 11:30 a.m. PST at 6328 Hollywood Blvd. “We are thrilled to let the fans know that we are placing L.A.-born Mariska Hargitay’s star next to the star of her mother, the legendary actress Jayne Mansfield on this very special day,” stated Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer. “Fans have been waiting for this ceremony for a while now and will be here in droves, I am sure,” she added.  Known for her love of “Green Juice” as she calls it, The Juice Fountain, adjacent to the star named a special concoction the “Mariska Green Juice” in her honor!

Emcee Leron Gubler, President & CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and guest speakers Hilary Swank and Dick Wolf  helped Hargitay unveil the 2,511th star in the category of Television. The star ceremony was streamed live exclusively on www.walkoffame.com

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Hargitay is the youngest daughter of screen legend Jayne Mansfield and Mickey Hargitay.

Emmy Award-winner Mariska Hargitay stars as Olivia Benson, a dedicated and emotionally-driven detective on Wolf Films/Universal Television’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” currently in its fifteenth season. The show airs Wednesdays, 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on NBC.

In 2011, Hargitay garnered her eighth Emmy nomination for Lead Actress in a Drama Series, and won the 2006 Emmy in that category. Also in 2011, she received her sixth SAG nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Detective Benson. In 2009, Hargitay earned her second Golden Globe nomination for Lead Actress in a Drama Series for the role, winning the award in 2005. She has also received two Gracie Allen Awards for American Women in Radio and Television. Just this week, The People’s Choice Awards announced that Hargitay was nominated for “Best Dramatic Actress” for the upcoming show.

Prior to “SVU,” Hargitay starred on NBC’s “ER” as Dr. Greene’s (Anthony Edwards) girlfriend Cynthia Hooper. She gained notice as a cast regular in the sitcom “Can’t Hurry Love” with Nancy McKeon and starred in the NBC drama, “Prince Street.” Other television credits include “Seinfeld,” “Ellen,” “Thirtysomething,” and David Lynch’s “Hotel Room.” Hargitay also appeared in the telefilms “The Advocate’s Devil” and “Night Sins,” as well as the Lifetime movie “Plain Truth.” Her film credits include appearances in the critically-acclaimed “Leaving Las Vegas” and in Mike Myers’ “The Love Guru.”

Committed to ending violence and abuse and caring for those who have survived it, Hargitay spends as much time off screen dealing with these crimes as she does on set as Detective Benson. Inspired by her role on “SVU,” Hargitay created the Joyful Heart Foundation, whose mission is to heal, educate, and empower survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse, and to shed light into the darkness that surrounds these issues. Since its inception in 2004, Joyful Heart has directly served more than 13,500 individuals through its unique Healing & Wellness programs; connected more than 1.5-million individuals through its website, blogs and social media efforts to resources and life-saving help; secured more than one-billion impressions in digital and print media about the issues of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse; and effected policy changes in jurisdictions from New York to California. “Joyful Heart is about the courage to heal, and our programming is dedicated to honoring that brave decision,” explains Hargitay.

Through Joyful Heart, Hargitay has used her voice to bring attention, funding and new legislation to critical issues facing sexual and family violence survivors, working with the medical community, the criminal justice system and law enforcement. She has testified before Congress urging lawmakers to address the backlog of untested rape kits in the U.S., and launched www.endthebacklog.org, the first website dedicated to addressing this issue. Hargitay recently made her directorial debut with a groundbreaking celebrity-driven PSA campaign for NO MORE (www.NOMORE.org), the nation’s first unifying symbol to end domestic violence and sexual assault.

Hargitay has also lends her time and voice to other organizations such as Lee National Denim Day, Autism Speaks, The Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center, The Santa Monica Rape Crisis Center, Project ALS, The James Redford Institute for Transplant Awareness (JRI), Safe Horizon and the Venice Family Clinic. She has also appeared in national campaigns for NBC’s “The More You Know” and Got Milk.

Jane’s Addiction

ROCK & ROLL ON THE BOULEVARD!
JANE’S ADDICTION HONORED WITH
STAR ON THE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME

Watch Jane's Addiction Walk of Fame star ceremony at the end of this page

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honored hometown boys, Jane's Addiction with the 2,509th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. “We are excited to honor our hometown guys on our famous Walk!” stated Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez. “They are one of the most popular rock bands around and we expect many fans at this exciting event,” she added.

Emcee Leron Gubler, President & CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and guest speakers John Densmore, Taylor Hawkins and John Doe helped Jane’s Addiction Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins and Chris Chaney unveil the star at 6436 Hollywood Boulevard next to the Playmates of Hollywood Store in the category of Recording.

You may watch the star ceremony exclusively on www.walkoffame.com at the end of this page.

The band was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1985. Founder and singer Perry Farrell found bassist Eric Avery, who then brought on drummer Stephen Perkins and finally guitarist Dave Navarro, after auditioning many players.  Jane’s Addiction became a sensation on the Los Angeles club scene and a staple on the Sunset Strip.

The band’s original line-up featured Perry Farrell (vocals), Dave Navarro (guitar), Eric Avery (bass) and Stephen Perkins (drums). Jane’s Addiction was one of the first bands to emerge from the early 1990s alternative rock movement to gain mainstream media attention and commercial success in the United States. They recorded Nothing’s Shocking in 1988 (so they are celebrating 25-years in 2013!) and Ritual De Lo Habitual in 1990, both on Warner Brothers Records.

Jane’s Addiction broke up in 1991 and their farewell tour coincided with Farrell founding the first Lollapalooza festival, an alternative rock showcase and lifestyle festival that is still to this day one of the most influential music festivals in the world. As a result, Jane’s Addiction became icons of what is dubbed the “Alternative Nation.”  In 1997 Jane’s Addiction united briefly with Red Hot Chili  Pepper’s Flea filling in on bass. Then in 2001 the band reconnected with Chris Chaney on bass and released the album Strays, produced by  legendary producer Bob Ezrin. “Superhero” from this album became the theme song for HBO’s hit show Entourage. Farrell, Navarro, Perkins and Chaney  returned in to release their fourth studio album, The Great Escape Artist, and toured the world.

Jane’s Addiction is regarded as one of the most influential acts in alternative music. Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine compared the influence of the band to those of Nirvana. The artists influenced by Jane’s Addiction include Tool, Korn, The Smashing Pumpkins, Candlebox, P.O.D., Incubus and Rage Against the Machine… to name a few.  Some of their most popular songs include “Ocean Size,” “Stop!,” “Had A Dad,” “Been Caught Stealing,” “Three Days,” “Classic Girl,” “Ripple,” “Jane Says,” “Superhero” and many others.

The band is involved in the following charities:  Music Cares, Music Education, Los Angeles Youth Network, Grammy Foundation, Until There’s A Cure, PETA, Stand Up for SkateParks (Tony Hawk Foundation), Guitar Center On-Stage Program and Global Cool.

Watch Jennifer Hudson star ceremony on Hollywood Walk of Fame at the end of this page.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Jennifer Hudson was honored today with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of the W Hollywood Hotel. “We are so happy to honor Jennifer Hudson with a star on the Walk of Fame. She is a great talent and a great addition to our Walk of Fame,” stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies. “Fans from all over the world have been waiting for this special day since we announced Jennifer’s selection for the star,” added Martinez.

Emcee Leron Gubler, President & CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and music mogul Clive Davis helped Hudson unveil the 2,512th star in the category of Recording at 6262 Hollywood Boulevard in the category of Recording. The star ceremony was streamed live exclusively at 11:30 a.m. PST on www.walkoffame.com

An Academy Award©-winning actress, Grammy Award-winning recording artist and best-selling author, Jennifer Hudson is an extraordinary talent.  From humble beginnings, Hudson began singing in a small Chicago church where, week after week, she brought the congregation to its feet. From there, she’s gone on to worldwide acclaim.

On November 27, Hudson will return to theaters once more in Fox Searchlight Pictures’ “Black Nativity,” her first musical film since “Dreamgirls.”  Directed and written by Kasi Lemmons, Hudson stars alongside Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, Mary J. Blige  and Jacob Latimore in the film based on Langston Hughes’ gospel musical re-telling of the Bible's nativity story.

Hudson has most recently been seen in director George Tillman Jr.’s “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete”, which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and was released in October. The beautifully observed film features Hudson as a drug-addicted mother, “Gloria,” who abandons her son to fend for himself in the projects of New York City for a summer after she’s arrested. Just prior in September, Hudson was seen starring alongside Terrence Howard in Darrell Roodt’s “Winnie Mandela,” in which she plays the titular role of activist, politician and ex-wife to South African President and revolutionary Nelson Mandela.

This year was also a huge success for Hudson’s music career, being honored with the privilege to perform at the Presidential Inauguration, Super Bowl XLVII and the Academy Awards© in a tribute to movie musicals. In addition, Hudson just released her new single “I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel)” produced by Pharrell Williams and featuring T.I.. The critically-acclaimed track is the first off her new album, which will be released in early 2014. Hudson was also honored by the Recording Academy at the Annual Grammy’s on the Hill for her philanthropic efforts, specifically with her and her sister’s organization, the Julian D. King Gift Foundation. Hudson was also honored at VH1’s Do Something Awards for her charitable work and was honored again in October with the Samsung Galaxy Impact Award at Variety’s Power of Women luncheon.

Expanding her talents in the arts, Hudson added author  to her list of accomplishments in January of 2012 with the release her New York Times best-selling memoir, “I Got This: How I Changed My Ways, Found Myself and Lost Everything that Weighed Me Down.”

In 2007, Hudson won an Academy Award© for her role as “Effie” in the smash hit “Dreamgirls,” an adaptation of the Broadway musical.  Her breakout film performance also garnered a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a BAFTA and an NAACP Image Award. Additional credits include being honored by the Broadcast Film Critics Association, the National Board of Review and being named “Entertainer of the Year” at the Soul Train Awards.

Hudson also received an NAACP Image Award nomination in 2009 for her role in Fox Searchlight’s “The Secret Life of Bees.” Directed by Gina Prince Blythewood, the stellar cast included Dakota Fanning, Alicia Keyes and Queen Latifah.  Prior to “Bees,” Hudson co-starred in the box office hit “Sex and the City: The Movie,” joining the hit television series' original cast of Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis.

Hudson has made the same kind of impact in the world of music that she has made in film with the successful release of both of her Arista Records albums. Her sophomore album, “I Remember Me,” was introduced in March 2011 to rave reviews. The album debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top 200 and R&B Albums charts and has since been certified RIAA Gold in the U.S. She went on to receive a 2012 Billboard Music Award nomination for Top R&B Album as well as taking  home two 2012 NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Music Video and Outstanding Album. Additional recent collaborations include “Think Like A Man” with Ne-Yo and Rick Ross for the title track of the film and critically-acclaimed single “Night Of Your Life” with David Guetta for his most recent hit-album “Nothing But The Beat.”

Hudson’s 2008 debut self-titled album won a Grammy Award for “Best R & B Album,” which was presented by one of Hudson’s idols, Whitney Houston. She also received three additional nominations including “Best Female R&B Vocal Performance,” “Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals” and “Best R&B Song.” The album then went on to win three awards at the 2009 NAACP Image Awards including “Best Album.” The RIAA Gold Certified album entered Billboard’s Top 200 at No. 2 and marked the biggest first week sales for an R&B female entry since 2004 and has sold more than 1.1 million albums worldwide.

In 2009, Jennifer, along with her sister Julia, founded The Julian D. King Gift Foundation in loving memory of Jennifer’s nephew and Julia’s son, who they lost in 2008. As a catalyst for change in children’s health, education and welfare, the Foundation exists to provide stability, support and positive experiences for children of all backgrounds so that they will become productive, confident and happy adults. The work of the Foundation is carried out through fund-raising events, the content and proceeds of which are used to support and encourage the positive development of children. Jennifer and Julia have thus far hosted four Annual Toy Drives at Christmas for less fortunate children in the Chicago area as well as founding “Hatch Day” in 2011, an annual back-to-school supply drive, which takes place in August, on Julian’s birthday to make sure all children start their school year with the supplies they need. This year, “Hatch Day” provided backpacks and school supplies for more than 6,800 Chicago children in need.

Hudson has been a national ambassador for Weight Watchers since 2010.

Janis Joplin

JANIS JOPLIN HONORED WITH POSTHUMOUS
STAR ON THE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME

KRIS KRISTOFFERSON PERFORMED A SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO JANIS

Watch the Janis Joplin Walk of Fame star ceremony at the end of this feature.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce proudly honored the late Janis Joplin with star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. “Janis Joplin is an iconic figure and her songs will always be remembered by her fans around the world,” stated Hollywood Walk of Fame producer, Ana Martinez. “We are excited to add a unique tribute to Janis by her friend Kris Kristofferson who will perform a special acoustic version of “Me and Bobby McGee,” which Janis famously recorded in 1970 yet was released posthumously in 1971, scoring Joplin a number one hit.

Emcee Leron Gubler, President & CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and guest speakers Kris Kristofferson, Clive Davis, and Janis’ siblings, Michael and Laura Joplin, helped unveil the 2,510th star in the category of Recording at 6752 Hollywood Boulevard in front of The Musicians Institute. The star ceremony was streamed live exclusively on www.walkoffame.com

That voice – high, husky, earthy, explosive – remains among the most distinctive and galvanizing in pop history.  Janis Joplin she threw herself into every syllable, testifying from the very core of her being.  She claimed the blues, soul, gospel, country and rock with unquestionable authority and verve.

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, in 1943, Joplin fell under the sway of Leadbelly, Bessie Smith and Big Mama Thornton in her teens.   A self-described misfit in high school, she suffered virtual ostracism, but dabbled in folk music with her friends and painted.  She briefly attended college in Beaumont and Austin, but was more drawn to blues legends and beat poetry than her studies. Soon she dropped out and, in 1963, headed for San Francisco, eventually finding herself in the notoriously drug-fueled Haight Ashbury neighborhood.

Joplin returned to Texas to escape the excesses of the Haight, enrolling as a Sociology student at Lamar University. But California drew Joplin back into its glittering embrace in 1966, when she joined the Haight-based psychedelic-rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company.   The band’s increasingly high-profile shows earned them a devoted fan base and serious industry attention. They signed with Columbia Records and released their major-label debut in 1967.  Of course, it was Joplin’s seismic presence that caused all the commotion, as evidenced by her shattering performance at the Monterey Pop Festival, which was captured for posterity by filmmaker D.A. Pennebaker. In the film, fellow pop star Mama Cass can be seen mouthing the word “Wow” as Joplin tears her way through “Ball And Chain.”

Big Brother’s “Piece of My Heart,” on 1968’s Cheap Thrills LP, shot to the No. 1 spot, the album sold a million copies in a month, and Joplin became a sensation – earning rapturous praise from Time and Vogue, appearing on The Dick Cavett Show and capturing the imagination of audiences that had never experienced such fiery intensity in a female rock singer.

Joplin’s departure from Big Brother and emergence as a solo star were inevitable. She put together her own outfit, the Kozmic Blues Band, and in 1969 released  I Got Dem Ol’ Kozmic Blues Again Mama! which went gold.  That year also saw her perform at the Woodstock festival.

Joplin assembled a new backup group, the Full Tilt Boogie Band, in 1970. She also joined the Grateful Dead, the Band and other artists for the “Festival Express” railroad tour through Canada. Her musical evolution followed the earthier direction of the new decade as reflected in her final studio album, the landmark Pearl.  Embracing material such as Kris Kristofferson’s gorgeous country ballad “Me and Bobby McGee,” and her own a cappella plaint, “Mercedes Benz,” the disc showcased Joplin’s mastery of all pop genres.  The latter song was, along with a phone-message birthday greeting for John Lennon, the last thing she recorded. She died in October of 1970, and Pearl was released posthumously the following year.  The quadruple-platinum set became the top-selling release of Joplin’s career and, in 2003, was ranked No. 122 on Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.”

In the years since, Janis Joplin’s recordings and filmed performances have cemented her status as an icon.  Myriad hit collections, live anthologies and other repackaged releases have kept her legend alive, as have one-woman shows such as the hit Love, Janis (which Joplin’s sister, Laura, helped create) and 2009’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe “Best Solo Performance” nominee Janis. A documentary film is currently in development.

Joplin is also being celebrated with the Broadway musical A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN, which opened to rave reviews on October 10th. The show is being held at Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre.

Joplin was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and posthumously given a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005. But such honors only made official what rock fans already knew: that she was among the greatest, most powerful singers the form had ever known – and that she’d opened the door for countless artists across the musical spectrum.

Olympia Dukakis

OSCAR® WINNING ACTRESS OLYMPIA DUKAKIS HONORED WITH
STAR ON THE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME

Star ceremony is in conjunction with Greek America Foundation 3rd Biennial Gabby Awards Weekend

Watch Olympia Dukakis complete star ceremony at the end of this page.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honored Olympia Dukakis with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of the iconic Pantages Theatre for her amazing work on stage. The ceremony coincided with The Greek America Foundation’s Gabby Awards of which Dukakis is a supporter and Foundation board member. “We are thrilled to add another great star to our famed Walk of Fame. Ms. Dukakis is in a class of her own and has long been loved by fans the world over,” stated Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies. “We also welcome more than 1,000 Greek America Foundation members who will be here in Hollywood for their Gabby Awards Weekend events.”

Emcee Leron Gubler, President of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, President and CEO and guest speakers Diane Ladd and Ed Asner helped Olympia unveil the 2,498th Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Category of Live Theatre at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard in front of The Pantages Theatre on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. The event was streamed live on www.walkoffame.com

Long a vital, respected actor of the classic and contemporary stage and the epitome of Mediterranean-styled weariness, this grand lady did not become a household name and sought-after film actress until age 56 when she turned in an Oscar®-winning performance asCher's sardonic mother in the romantic comedyMoonstruck(1987). Since then movie  and TV fans have discovered an acting treasure. Her adaptability to various ethnicities such as Greek, Italian, Jewish, Eastern European, as well her chameleon-like versatility in everything from cutting-edge comedy to stark tragedy, has kept her in high demand for the past 30 years as of one of Hollywood's topnotch character players.

Olympia Dukakis was born on June 20, 1931, in Lowell, Massachusetts, the daughter of Greek immigrants Constantine and Alexandra  Dukakis. She majored, in physical therapy at Boston University, where she graduated with a BA.   She later returned to her alma mater and entered the graduate program in performing arts and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree.

Dukakis found early success by distinguishing herself first on stage performing in summer stock and with several repertory and Shakespearean companies throughout the county. She made herBroadwaydebutas an understudy in “The Aspern Papers" at age 30, followed by very short runs in the plays "Abraham Cochrane" (1964) and "Who's Who in Hell" (1974). In 1999, she premiered a one-woman play "Rose", at the National Theatre in London and subsequently on Broadway in 2000. The play earned her an Outer Critics Circle Award and Drama DeskAwardnomination and she continues to tour the country with it. Most recently she was seen on the New York stage in the Roundabout Theatre’s production of “The Milktrain Doesn’t Stop Here Anymore” (2011), in San Francisco in A.C.T.’s production of “Vigil” (2011) and as “Prospera” in “The Tempest” (2012) at Shakespeare & Co. She has performed in more than 130 productions Off-Broadway and regionally at theatres including the Public Theatre, A.C.T., Shakespeare in the Park, Shakespeare & Co. and the Williamstown Summer Theatre Festival, where she also served as Associate Director. She will be seen again at Shakespeare & Co. in the summer of 2013 as the title role in “Mother Courage and Her Children.”

Dukakis married Yugoslav-American actorLouis Zorichin 1962. The New York-based couple went on to co-found the Whole Theatre Company in Montclair, New Jersey, and ran the company for 19 years from 1971 to 1990.  As an actress, director, producer and teacher, she still found the time to raise their three young children. She also became a master instructor at New York University for 14 years. She scored theater triumphs in "A Man’s a Man," for which she won an Off-BroadwayObie Awardin 1962; several productions of "The Cherry Orchard" and "Mother Courage;" "Six Characters in Search of an Author;" "The Rose Tattoo;" "The Seagull;" "The Marriage of Bette and Boo" (another ObieAward); and, more notably, her many performances as the title role in "Hecuba." A good portion of her success was launched within the walls of her own theater company, which encouraged the birth of new and untried plays. Her prolific directing credits include many of the classics: "Orpheus Descending," "The House of Bernarda Alba," "Uncle Vanya" and "A Touch of the Poet," as well as the more contemporary "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and "Kennedy's Children". She also adapted such plays as "Mother Courage" and "The Trojan Women" for the theater company. Over the duration of their marriage, she and her husband have experienced shared successes, appearing together in "Long Day's Journey Into Night," "Camino Real, "The Three Sisters" and "The Seagull," among many others. Both are master interpreters of Chekhovian plays, and one of their more recent acting collaborations was in "The Chekhov Cycle" in 2003.

Making an inauspicious debut in a bit role as a mental patient in Lilith (1964), Dukakis tended to gravitate toward off-the-wall films with various offshoots of the ethnic mother. She played mom to such leads as Dustin Hoffman in John and Mary (1969), Joseph Bologna in the cult comedy Made for Each Other (1971) and Ray Sharkey in The Idolmaker (1980). Interestingly, it was her scene-stealing work on Broadway in the comedy "Social Security" (1986) that caught director Norman Jewison’s eye and earned her the Moonstruck (1987) movie role. The Academy Award win for Best Supporting Actress was the last of a stream of awards she earned for that part, including the American Comedy Award, Los Angeles Film Critics Award and Golden Globe Award. From then on, silver-haired Olympia was first in line for a number of roles: Steel Magnolias (1989), Dad (1989), Look Who's Talking (1989), The Cemetery Club (1993), Mr. Holland's Opus (1995) and Mother (1995). Her most recent film, Cloudburst (2011), has been a critical and audience darling, winning her several Best Actress awards and over 40 plus awards for Best Film at various film festivals around the world.

On TV, Dukakis received high praise especially for her sympathetic transgendered landlady in the acclaimed miniseries "Tales of the City" (1993) and its sequels “More Tales of the City” (1998)   and “Further Tales of the City” (2001). She was additionally seen in episodes of “Bored to Death” (2011-2012),and TV movies “Last of the Blond Bombshells” (2000), “Sinatra”(1992) and “Joan of Arc” (1999). This work is among more than 40 other series, mini-series and guest starring roles she has accumulated over her long career.

Dukakis is a strong advocate of women’s rights and environmental causes. Olympia published her best-selling autobiography "Ask Me Again Tomorrow: A Life in Progress" in 2003, an introspective chronicle full of her trademark candor and wry humor. She is also a figure on the lecture circuit covering topics as widespread as life in the theater to feminism, Alzheimer’s, Diabetes and Osteoporosis.  She has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Greek America Foundation and the National Arts Club Medal of Honor.
