One of the most significant female artists in music history, Missy Elliott is a pioneer of female Hip-Hop and R&B, groundbreaking songwriter-producer, and across-the-board cultural icon. The five-time GRAMMY® Award winner – with nominations spanning three decades – has attained unprecedented success. Missy’s six studio albums have each been RIAA platinum-certified or better, marking her as the only female rapper to achieve that remarkable accomplishment.

Elliott made history as the first female Hip Hop artist ever to receive the MTV Video Music Awards’ prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 2019. That same year saw Elliott break new ground as the first female Hip-Hop artist and third-ever rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Furthermore, Elliott became the first female Hip Hop artist to receive an honorary Doctor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music, celebrating her lasting contributions to music and popular culture. And as if all that weren’t enough, Missy kickstarted 2020 by making history yet again, this time co-producing the Lifetime original movie The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel alongside Queen Latifa and Mary J. Blige. The Lifetime biopic   pulled in 2.7 million viewers on its debut night.

Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, Elliott first made waves for her inventive songwriting and production work alongside her childhood friend, Timothy Mosely a.k.a Timbaland. Together they created an innovative, idiosyncratic sound all their own, heard on a score of hits for the late Aaliyah – including “One In A Million,” “If Only Your Girl Knew” and “Hot Like Fire” – as well as such chart-topping favorites as SWV’s “Can We,” 702’s “Where My Girls At?,” Destiny’s Child’s “Confessions” and Whitney Houston’s “In My Business.”

Elliott’s milestone solo debut, 1997’s RIAA platinum certified “SUPA DUPA FLY,” proved a landmark, debuting at #3 on the Billboard 200 – the highest charting debut for a female rapper at that date. Immediately acclaimed upon release as a boundary-shattering masterpiece, “SUPA DUPA FLY” spawned a string of blockbuster hit singles, including “Sock It 2 Me,” “Hit Em Wit Da Hee,” “Beep Me 911” and, of course, “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly).” “DA REAL WORLD” followed in 1999, showcasing the record-breaking #1 hit, “Hot Boyz (Remix) (Feat, Lil’ Mo, Nas, Eve & Q-Tip).”

2001’s “MISS E… SO ADDICTIVE” was yet another platinum-certified milestone, a worldwide sensation that established Elliott as hip-hop’s preeminent female artist. The album’s “Get Ur Freak On” redefined contemporary pop and hip hop, earning Missy her first-ever GRAMMY® Award (for “Best Rap Performance”).”

Elliott’s massive mainstream accomplishments have extended far beyond her own solo works, including innumerable guest appearances on singles and remixes by a truly diverse span of musical artists. As one of modern pop’s definitive songwriters and producers, Elliott’s star-studded list of songwriting credits continues to grow, including collaborations with Beyoncé, Janet Jackson, Katy Perry, Ciara, Monica, Toni Braxton, Faith Evans, Ginuwine, Fantasia, Jazmine Sullivan, and Justin Timberlake, among others.

Recent years have seen a series of surprise event appearances like her unforgettable performance at 2015’s Super Bowl XLIX alongside Katy Perry. In 2016, Elliott united with former First Lady Michelle Obama for “This Is For My Girls,” an all-star anthem to female empowerment performed by Kelly Clarkson, Chloe x Halle, Jadagrace, Lea Michele, Janelle Monáe, Kelly Rowland, & Zendaya.

This year, Elliott directed the City Girls “Twerkulator” video for which she won BET’s 2021 Director of the Year Award.

As part of her ongoing passion for helping disadvantaged youngsters, Elliott is involved in the following charities:  King Daughters Children’s Hospital, Minor High School Gift and The Cool Girls Charity and Girls Make Beats.

“Ana Gabriel is one of Mexico’s most talented singers and composers and we are proud to include her on the Hollywood  Walk of Fame. Her many fans from around the world will be able to visit her star for many years to come,” stated Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame Producer.

Joining Emcee Lupita Sanchez-Cornejo, Vice Chair of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, to unveil the star were former Mayor of Los Angeles Antonio Villaraigosa, Henry Cardenas, CEO of Cardenas Marketing Network and entertainment news journalist Jessica Maldonado.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which administers the popular star ceremonies, encourages people who are unable to attend and fans around the world to watch the event exclusively on www.walkoffame.com.

Ana Gabriel is an iconic Mexican singer and composer. She was born on December 10, 1955 in the small town of Guamúchil, Sinaloa, Mexico. Even as a little girl, her family always encouraged her singing and musical ability, staging reenactments of a popular radio show where she would play the first three notes from a song and her family would guess what song it was. She felt a calling to be a singer from a very young age and first performed on stage at age six, singing “Regalo de Dios” by José Alfredo Jiménez.

While in Tijuana she studied accounting and she eventually became a Certified Accountant, but she knew in her heart that music, composing, and singing with her unique voice was in her future. On December 15, 1974 she recorded her first song.

Over the course of her career, Gabriel has released 28 studio albums, three live albums, and 19 compilation albums, selling more than 40 million records worldwide. Three of her albums have reached number one on the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart, and seven singles reached number one on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, including “Ay Amor,” “Es Demasiado Tarde,” and “Quién Como Tú.” Her work earned her numerous awards and accolades, including a Grammy Award nomination, four Latin Grammy Award nominations, thirteen Lo Nuestro Awards, as well as awards from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. In 2006, she received the Excellence Award at the Lo Nuestro Awards.

Ana Gabriel performed at the OTI Festival in 1985, 1986, and 1987. In 1986 wrote and composed “A Tu Lado,” which she then performed at the festival. She won third place in 1987 with an orchestral version of the pop-power ballad song “Búscame,” composed in conjunction with Tony Flores. This version was later released as a single in its album version. It climbed to the top position in Mexico, all-over Ibero-America, and broke records on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart for 14 consecutive weeks.

In 1988 Gabriel released Tierra de Nadie, which was the best-selling album in Latin America, followed by Pecado Original in 1989. The 1989 release of the album Quién Como Tú made her a musical force in Mexico. Her live album En Vivo showcased her powerful stage act and scored several hits including “En la Oscuridad” and “Destino,” which she wrote to honor her grandparents Roberto and Florencia.

Throughout the ‘90s Gabriel released an album almost every year. A versatile singer, she showcased her talent as an interpreter of many different musical styles including mariachi, ranchero, romantic ballads, and pop. She honed her skills as a songwriter and a producer, releasing Mi México, a ranchera-influenced, mariachi-backed pop album in 1991, which is the highest-selling album of her career. The album also included a tribute to Mexico’s most popular singer-songwriter, Juan Gabriel and opened the doors to her career in Europe. Her second live album, Ana Gabriel en la Plaza de Toros México, recorded in 1998, is the second-best-selling album of her career. It features 28 songs all written and performed by Gabriel and was re-released in 2007 with a DVD compilation, which sold over 2 million copies.

In 2009, after a short hiatus, she reinvigorated her career with the release of Renacer: Homenaje a Lucha Villa. According to Rolling Stone Magazine in 2018 she stood “…as the highest-ranking female artist on Billboard’s male-dominated Greatest of All Time Hot Latin Songs Artists list, opening the doors for future female pop titans like Shakira.”

In her self-produced 2016 documentary, La Historia, Gabriel tells a story of people who would incredulously ask her, “You’re going to be a singer?” And she’d always reply “Yes. I am. And I’m going to be very famous.” She credits her parents’ encouragement and her resolute character for the success of her career. Her charisma, passion, love, humility, and her

inner- and- outer beauty have secured her place as one of the best Mexican singers in the world.

As part of her ongoing passion for helping disadvantaged children, Ana Gabriel is involved with the following charities: Moviemiento RAS, Maestro Cares Foundation and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

“Byron Allen has show business in his blood! His impressive career started as a young boy and just kept going. We are very proud to be able to pay tribute to Mr. Allen’s stellar career and add his name to our iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame,” stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which administers the popular star ceremonies, encourages people who are unable to attend and fans around the world to watch the event exclusively on www.walkoffame.com.

Byron Allen is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Allen Media Group/Entertainment Studios. He was born in Detroit, Michigan. Following the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the urban civil unrest occurring in Detroit and other major U.S. cities that arose from that tragic event, Allen accompanied his mother, Carolyn Folks, on a vacation trip to Los Angeles that summer to visit with family and friends. They ended up staying in Los Angeles permanently.

Allen’s interest in show business began during his childhood, when he would accompany his mother to NBC studios in Burbank where she secured a network internship, a job as a tour guide, and later as a network publicist.  Free to roam the NBC soundstages where his mother worked, Allen would sneak onto “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, sit behind Johnny Carson’s desk and play talk show host. After encouragement from Carson himself, Allen took it one step further, and at age 14, put together his first stand-up routine and began performing on amateur nights at comedy clubs throughout the Los Angeles area. After one performance, comedian and “Good Times”  sitcom star Jimmie Walker received word of Allen’s act and decided to invite the budding 14-year-old comedian to join his comedy writing team alongside promising young unknown comedians Jay Leno and David Letterman. In 1979, at age 18, Allen made his national television debut on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.” Allen holds the distinction of being the youngest standup comedian ever to have performed on the show.  Watching Allen’s network television debut were the producers of NBC’s “Real People”. The producers were so taken with Allen’s comfortable, relaxed style that they made him an offer the very next day to co-host what would become the first reality-based program ever broadcast on television.  He accepted, and “Real People” dominated the network’s Wednesday night prime-time for five years.

Allen’s experience hosting the show was his training ground for the business of television.  He traveled the nation with a crew and shot segments profiling real people across America’s heartland. So while he was getting his feet wet as a television personality, he was also learning the ins and outs of television production.  The experience also prepared him to take on the business of advertising and syndication, which he learned by personally calling station owners, programming directors and advertisers, one-by-one and market-by-market.

In 1993, Allen founded his television production and distribution company, Entertainment Studios (now called Allen Media Group). Headquartered in Los Angeles, Allen Media Group has offices in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and Raleigh. Allen Media Group owns 32 ABC-NBC-CBS-FOX network affiliate broadcast television stations in  20 U.S. markets and twelve 24-hour HD television networks, including The Weather Channel, all serving nearly 180 million subscribers. Allen Media Group produces, distributes, and sells advertising for 68 television programs, making it one of the largest Independent producers/distributors of first-run syndicated television programming for broadcast television stations.

Charitable activities are also at the forefront of Allen’s endeavors. For many years, he was the annual host of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Annual “Dinner of Champions.”  Most recently, Allen was presented with the Children’s Inspiration Award from the Los Angeles charitable organization A Place Called Home.  The Children’s Inspiration Award is presented to an individual whose vision is large enough to embrace the “impossible” and whose tenacity is great enough to achieve things that “can’t be done.”  The recipient has overcome hardships and obstacles, and transcended in ways that serve as an inspiration.  In 2017, Byron Allen launched his company’s first annual Oscar Gala, an Academy Awards viewing party held on Oscar night – which raised over $1 million for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.  Allen continues the annual tradition, raising additional millions of dollars for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles ever since.
