The double ceremony, which saw both stars dedicated in the category of Motion Pictures, took place on February 12 at 11:30 AM in honor of Valentine’s Day. O’Neal and MacGraw both received Oscar® nominations for their starring roles in the timeless, unmatched tale from the heart, LOVE STORY. Based on Erich Segal’s best-selling novel, LOVE STORY was nominated for seven Academy Awards®, including Best Picture, and became a cultural phenomenon, earning over $100 million at the domestic box office.  The film spent 15 weeks at #1 in the U.S., continuing to expand to more theaters because of its popularity and ultimately becoming the top-grossing movie of the year.

In 2002, the AFI named it as #9 on its list of the 100 greatest love stories of all time.

ALI MACGRAW

Ali MacGraw graduated from Wellesley college and began her professional career in 1960 as Diana Vreeland’s assistant at Harper’s Bazaar. After leaving Harper’s Bazaar, she went to work as a stylist for fashion photographer Melvin Sokolsky in New York for six years. Ali’s acting career began when producer Stanley R. Jaffe and director Larry Peerce offered her the leading role of Brenda Patamkin in the screen version of Philip Roth’s short novel Goodbye Columbus.  She followed this by starring in the phenomenally successful film Love Story, which proved to be her major break.  The film earned Ali international fame, an Academy Award® nomination, a Golden Globe award, and many additional honors world-wide. Ali’s third picture, The Getaway, co-starring her future husband, Steve McQueen, completed her trio of blockbuster films. After The Getaway, Ali took a five-year hiatus from Hollywood to raise her son. She returned to the screen to co-star in Sam Peckinpah’s Convoy with Kris Kristofferson. Her other credits include the films Players and Just Tell Me What You Want as well as TV’s The Winds of War and Dynasty.

Ali’s autobiography, Moving Pictures (Bantam Books), climbed the New York Times Bestseller List and went on to become an international bestseller.

Ali travels extensively, appearing in documentaries and working on behalf of numerous social, animal and environmental causes.

RYAN O’NEAL   

Born Patrick Ryan O’Neal in Los Angeles, Ryan trained to become a professional boxer, competing in two Golden Gloves championships in 1956 and 1957. He had an impressive amateur fighting record – 18 wins to four losses, with 13 knockouts. In the late 1950s, Ryan and his family moved to Germany for his father’s job writing broadcasts for Radio Free Europe. O’Neal continued his schooling at the Munich American High School until he landed his first job in the entertainment industry as a stuntman on the American television series Tales of the Vikings.

Ryan’s first major television role was on the daytime soap opera Peyton Place and his big break came when he was chosen from more than 300 hopefuls for the role of Oliver Barrett opposite Ali MacGraw in Love Story in 1970.

After Love Story, Ryan turned to comedy and starred opposite fellow Walk of Famer Barbara Streisand in the smash hit What’s Up Doc (1971). He then starred in The Thief Who Came To Dinner (1973). Ryan next played a drifter working con games with his daughter (played by real life daughter, Tatum) in the critically acclaimed hit Paper Moon (1973) for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe as Best Actor, and which won Tatum an Academy Award® for Best Supporting Actress. Ryan then went on to star in Stanley Kubrick’s 1975 historical drama Barry Lyndon. After that he starred in Oliver’s Story, a sequel to Love Story.  His other films include: The DriverThe Main Event and Irreconcilable Differences.

In 1979, Ryan met and fell in love with actress Farrah Fawcett. Ryan and Farrah co-starred in the made-for-TV miniseries Small Sacrifices (1989), based on the true story of Diane Downs. Ryan returned to episodic television, again co-starring with Farrah in 1991 in the sitcom Good Sports. Ryan’s other credits include Chances Are (1989) with Robert Downey Jr., Faithful with Cher (1996), and the comedic Malibu’s Most Wanted (2003). With more than 60 credits to his name, O’Neal has continued to be a Hollywood fixture, with appearances on popular series including Desperate Housewives, 90210, and Bones.

In 2015 – 45 years after their onscreen Love Story – Ryan reunited with Ali onstage for the national tour of Love Letters, which earned the pair rave reviews for their performances.

Ryan is on the board of the Farrah Fawcett Foundation which raises funds for those faced with mounting expenses during cancer treatment. He is also a huge supporter and contributor to Diamond Willow Ministries, which formed in 2002 for the purpose of building and strengthening the people of the Crow Creek Sioux Reservation.

Anthony Anderson

HOLLYWOOD, CA–The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honored Emmy nominated actor and new Walk of Famer Actor Anthony Anderson with the first virtual Walk of Fame star ceremony in the history of the prestigious boulevard. The production was filmed at the Hollywood Museum and can be viewed on www.walkoffame.com. The event was emceed by President/CEO Rana Ghadban.  Guest speakers included Walk of Famer George Lopez, Executive Brian Dobbins, and Anthony’s mother, Doris Bowman.   Anderson’s sidewalk star is located at 6780 Hollywood Boulevard.

The decision to resume the Walk of Fame ceremonies was not made lightly and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce followed strict filming guidelines set forth by the County of Los Angeles. The county of Los Angeles adopted a staged approach, supported by science and public health expertise, to allow Music, Television and Film production to resume as of June 12, 2020. Safety guidelines included: COVID-19 testing for each participant, sanitizing the production area, maintaining social distancing, wearing proper personal protective equipment and closing the ceremony to the public. In-person participants were limited and the ceremony is available to the public on the Walk of Fame website.

Anthony was inducted into the Walk of Fame Class in 2018, but he elected to hold off on his ceremony so he could celebrate alongside another great milestone, his 50th birthday which falls on August 15, 2020.

As a native Angeleno, Anthony attended Hollywood High School’s Performing Arts classes and has played an active part in the Hollywood community, as an advocate and philanthropist, for more than 35 years. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Anthony decided to move forward with his ceremony as previously scheduled by partnering with Hollywood UNITES to help support the vulnerable members within the Hollywood community.

*Hollywood UNITES, an initiative from the Hollywood Chamber Community Foundation, provides meals and vital resources to those in need to help alleviate the detrimental impact on our community through these uncertain times. Anthony’s donation to Hollywood UNITES will expand the Foundation’s reach and provide more resources to the Hollywood community.

Six-time Emmy and two-time Golden Globe nominated actor, Anthony Anderson is the star and executive producer of ABC’s multi-award nominated sitcom “black-ish.” The show will begin its seventh season this fall.  Anderson also hosts the ABC game show “To Tell the Truth,” now in its fifth season. He produces “grown-ish” for Freeform and “mixed-ish” for ABC, both “Blackish” spin offs. He is also executive producing “Road Trippin” with Rickey Thompson and Denzel Dion which just began airing on SnapChat. Last year, Anthony appeared in the Emmy award winning ABC live television special, “Live in Front of a Studio Audience” as Henry Jefferson in the All in the Family” portion.  In the second Emmy nominated special, “Live in Front of a Studio Audience: “All in the Family” and “Good Times,” Anderson performed the opening song with Patti La Belle.

 

On the small screen, Anthony brought his talent and humor to his own WB sitcom “All About the Andersons” which was loosely based on his life. He also starred in Fox’s “K-Ville,” had a recurring role in the police-drama television series, “The Shield,” NBC’s “Guys with Kids,” and starred in “Law & Order.” Anthony has hosted several culinary focused shows on the Food Network including “Eating America, with Anthony Anderson” and “Carnival Cravings with Anthony Anderson,” as well as served as a regular judge on “Iron Chef America.” For the past two years, he has also hosted “Dear Mama: An Event to Honor Moms,” which is VH1’s annual Mother’s Day celebration to salute moms everywhere.  In addition, he’s been a frequent guest host of “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Anthony has received six consecutive Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, making him the most nominated Black actor in the same role in the history of the Emmys. He has also been nominated three times as a producer on “black-ish” in the Outstanding Comedy Series category. Anthony has two Golden Globe nominations and three Critics Choice nominations for his popular role in “black-ish.” Additionally, in 2020, he won his sixth individual Image Award in the category of “Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series,” adding to his 15 total Image Award nominations in his career. He has been nominated for four Screen Actors Guild awards, BET Awards, and Teen Choice awards as well as one People’s Choice Awards and one Kids’ Choice Awards. Anderson has also hosted the NAACP Image Awards for the past seven consecutive years.

On the big screen, Anderson has become familiar to audiences through roles in such prominent films such as TRANSFORMERS, THE DEPARTED and   THE BIG YEAR.  Anderson first gained attention in ME, MYSELF, AND IRENE and has since appeared in such films as the BARBERSHOP franchise, SCARY MOVIE 3, KANGAROO JACK, EXIT WOUNDS, CRADLE 2 THE GRAVE, TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME, MALIBU’S MOST WANTED, MY BABY’S DADDY, AGENT CODY BANKS 2, HAROLD AND KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE, SMALL TOWN CRIME, THE STAR and the Academy Award nominated animated film FERDINAND. Last year Anthony starred in and was the executive producer of Netflix’s film BEATS.  He is currently developing the film FOOTBALL OR ME, a romantic comedy.

Anthony is active in his community as an advocate and philanthropist, He hosts the annual Anthony Anderson Celebrity Golf Classic, benefiting the American Diabetes Association, Los Angeles Mission and Boys & Girls Club of America.  He also proudly serves on the GOOD+ Foundation’s Fatherhood Leadership Council and was inducted into the Class of 2017 Boys & Girls Club of America National Alumni Hall of Fame.  Anderson has Type 2 diabetes and is an advocate for diabetes awareness and a spokesperson for the “Getting Real About Diabetes” campaign. Anderson has always been a supporter of his hometown, Compton, California.  He has partnered with the City of Compton in holiday food giveaways in the city where they provided food to over 1,000 residents.  In the battle against Covid-19, Anderson joined Mayor Garcetti at a South L.A. clinic to urge communities of color to seek COVID-19 testing.  He also co-hosted the “Saving Our Selves: A BET COVID-19 Relief Effort” special, to support African Americans impacted by coronavirus. And in lieu of participating in the Veteran’s Day Parade due to Covid-19, he co-hostedThe 2020 National Memorial Day Parade: America Stands Tall” television special.

Andy Madadian’s immense musical talent, humanitarian efforts and diverse background have culminated in a remarkable entertainment career spanning 40 years, during which he has become a beloved icon around the world. Andy has released 15 albums that have sold millions of copies internationally.

Born in Tehran, Iran, Andy’s family came from humble beginnings. He grew up with nine people living in a small one-room house. But their house was filled with love, laughter, and most importantly for Andy, music.

As Andy was beginning to explore his musical roots, his native land entered into a turbulent period that led to a civil war. He made the decision to leave Iran, and moved to California with a student visa to play soccer for Cal State University LA. Despite starting from zero with no support network or place to live, Andy managed to make a life for himself in Los Angeles. He attended classes during the day and found work playing guitar at local clubs at night. Andy then formed the musical duo Andy and Kouros with fellow musician Kouros Shahmiri. The duo released four albums together before embarking on their respective solo careers.

Andy is credited for creating a new fusion of sound that combines the music of his Iranian-Armenian heritage with African rhythms, Spanish flamenco guitar licks, and Western dance music. His global, exotic sound reflects his international roots and experiences, which have allowed him to connect with millions of people around the world

Nicknamed the “Persian Bono”. the Iranian-Armenian American musician has toured extensively around the globe playing some of the world’s most prestigious venues, theatres, and stadiums and has sold millions of albums in the process. In 2017, Andy became the first Iranian-Armenian-American singer to receive the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor in New York.

He recorded the song “Stand by Me” with Jon Bon Jovi to show solidarity and bring awareness for the people of Iran, garnering over millions of hits on YouTube. In addition to high profile musical collaborations with Jon Bon Jovi, Ritchie Sambora, La Toya Jackson, Don Was and John Shanks, he has contributed musically and as an actor to films which include “The House of Sand and Fog”, “The Keeper”, as well as several indie films.

Andy  has won several awards over the course of his 40 year career, including the Icon Award and Best Duet with La Toya Jackson from the Big Apple Music Awards, the Concord Award from Moscow in 2014, The Voice of America (Persian News Program) award for Best Artist of the Year, the FOG (Festival of Globe) Award for Legendary Artist and Excellence in Music in San Jose, CA, and several awards from AMFA.

A true humanitarian, Andy has contributed to many international charitable causes during the span of his career. He is an Officer of Voices Out, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded by his wife, Shani Rigsbee, a fellow singer/songwriter and film producer. Voices Out’s mission is to provide a voice and aid children and animals in neglectful, abusive and abandoned conditions both in the US and abroad.   Andy has donated countless hours and performances for fundraisers to support medical facilities around the world. Due to his international popularity and philanthropic reputation, Andy was invited to perform at the One World Peace Concert with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 2012. The concert was a celebration of music, peace, and common ground.

Today, Andy is the living proof of the American dream. A long-time resident of Los Angeles, the city’s diversity and rich culture have helped to continue to fuel his unique sound that has catapulted him to international superstardom.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce proudly honored entertainer P!NK with the 2,656th Star on the World Famous Hollywood Walk of Fame, in the category of Recording, on February 5, 2019, in Los Angeles. The star has been dedicated in the category of Recording at 6801 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Hollywood & Highland Complex.

“We are thrilled to honor one of the world’s most popular entertainers P!NK! She is a unique performer who leaves you in a state of joy and surprise at the same time. She mesmerizes the audience with her voice and her action-packed performances!” said Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “Fans worldwide will join us in droves in Hollywood to see her honored on her special Walk of Fame day.”

P!nk, born Alecia Moore in Doylestown, Pennsylvania on September 8, 1979, is a singer, songwriter, performer, spokesperson, actor, devoted wife and mother, and one of the most beloved pop icons of the past two decades. P!nk got her start in the music business as a member of the girl group Choice, who signed with LaFace Records in 1995. Shortly after signing, LaFace saw unique potential in P!nk and offered her a solo recording contract. Drawing from her R&B musical influences, P!nk released her first solo studio album Can’t Take Me Home in 2000. The record was certified double-platinum in the United States and featured two Billboard Hot 100 top ten  songs, “There You Go” and “Most Girls.”

The star will be dedicated in the category of Radio in front of Dash Radio at 6363 Hollywood Boulevard.

Nationally renowned broadcast journalist Susan Stamberg is a special correspondent for NPR. Stamberg is the first woman to anchor a national nightly news program and has won every major award in broadcasting. She has been inducted into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame and the Radio Hall of Fame. An NPR “founding mother,” Stamberg has been on staff since the network began in 1971.

Prior to joining NPR, she served as producer, program director, and general manager of NPR Member Station WAMU-FM/Washington, DC. Starting in 1972, Stamberg served as co-host of NPR’s award-winning newsmagazine All Things Considered for 14 years. She then hosted Weekend Edition Sunday, and now reports on cultural issues for Morning Edition and Weekend Edition Saturday. One of the most popular broadcasters in public radio, Stamberg is well known for her conversational style, intelligence, and knack for finding an interesting story. Her interviewing has been called “fresh,” “friendly, down-to-earth,” and (by novelist E.L. Doctorow) “the closest thing to an enlightened humanist on the radio.” Her thousands of interviews include conversations with Laura Bush, Billy Crystal, Rosa Parks, Dave Brubeck, and Luciano Pavarotti.

Stamberg is also the author of two books, and co-editor of a third. Talk: NPR’s Susan Stamberg Considers All Things, chronicles her first two decades with NPR. Her first book, Every Night at Five: Susan Stamberg’s All Things Considered Book, was published in 1982 by Pantheon. Stamberg also co-edited The Wedding Cake in the Middle of the Road, published in 1992 by W. W. Norton. That collection grew out of a series of stories Stamberg commissioned for Weekend Edition Sunday.

In addition to her Hall of Fame inductions, other recognitions include the Armstrong and duPont Awards, the Edward R. Murrow Award from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, The Ohio State University’s Golden Anniversary Director’s Award, and the Distinguished Broadcaster Award from the American Women in Radio and Television.

A native of New York City, Stamberg earned a bachelor’s degree from Barnard College, and has been awarded numerous honorary degrees including a Doctor of Humane Letters from Dartmouth College. She is a Fellow of Silliman College, Yale University, and has served on the boards of the PEN/Faulkner Fiction Award Foundation and the National Arts Journalism Program based at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Stamberg has hosted several series on PBS, moderated three Fred Rogers television specials for adults, served as commentator, guest or co-host on various commercial TV programs, and appeared as a narrator in performance with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra, and in Wendy Wasserstein’s Broadway production, An American Daughter.

Susan is well known among younger women and journalists of color as an extraordinary mentor. She has been instrumental in organizing NPR workers. Her advocacy for women and minorities has been a core part of her career.
