The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce administers the legendary Walk of Fame for the City of Los Angeles and has proudly hosted the globally iconic star ceremonies for decades. Millions of people from here and around the world have visited this cultural landmark since 1960.

ABOUT OUR HONOREE

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome actor Alan Cumming to the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” stated Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer. “As we step into the new year, we’re thrilled to honor the incomparable Alan Cumming with a Walk of Fame star. Alan’s remarkable range, fearless artistry, and dedication to his craft have captivated audiences around the world. His star shines as brightly as his spirit, and we’re proud to celebrate his contributions to entertainment here in Hollywood,” added Martinez.

Trailblazer, creative polymath, renaissance man, maverick, master of reinvention, beyond eclectic: Alan Cumming is all of these and more.

His most recent adventures include winning four Emmys for hosting and producing the US Traitors, being named Artistic Director of Pitlochry Festival Theatre in his native Scotland, playing the lead in Brian Cox’s directorial film debut Glenrothan, recording a single with Gaelic rapper Griogair Labhruidh , writing a book with his longtime collaborator Forbes Masson to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the creation of their cabaret alter-egos Victor and Barry, shooting a film in French, voicing an elderly woman with a pet crab in the Disney Kids series Robogobo and all the while touring with NPR’s Ari Shapiro in their cabaret Och and Oy! as well as his solo show Uncut . Next up he returns to the superhero fold in Marvel’s Avengers:Doomsday!

He is the author of seven books including a New York Times #1 bestselling memoir, performs in concert regularly in halls around the world and co-owns his own, eponymous cabaret boite Club Cumming in New York City’s East Village, a home for ‘all ages, all genders, all colours, all sexualities, where kindness is all and anything could happen!’ Perhaps not surprisingly, Time Magazine named him one of the three most fun people in show business (the others were Cher and Stanley Tucci!)

Thirty years ago his Hamlet stormed the West End and he was hailed as ‘an actor knocking at the door of greatness’. A quarter of a century ago he was a sensation as Cabaret’s Master of Ceremonies in a production that forever changed the Broadway landscape. A decade ago his visceral, virtually one man Macbeth was a stunning, transatlantic coup de theatre.

His screen work ranges from art house to blockbuster, cult to mainstream, but his performances are always indelible and some immortal: Mr. Floop in Spy Kids, Eli in The Good Wife, Nightcrawler in X2: X Men United, Sebastian in The High Life, ‘O’ in Sex and the City, Boris in Goldeneye, King James in Doctor Who, Sandy Frink in Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, Mayor Menlove in Schmigadoon and himself on Broad City.

The list of his collaborators over the years includes Liza Minnelli, Jeremy O. Harris, Jackie Chan, the Smurfs, David Bowie, The Simpsons, Robert Wilson, Stanley Kubrick, Jay Z, Bianca Del Rio, the Spice Girls, George Lucas, Terence Blanchard, KT Tunstall and not forgetting Dora the Explorer, Arthur and Elmo.

He had a photo exhibition named Alan Cumming Snaps! and an award-winning fragrance named Cumming. He has played Dionysus, the Devil, God, the Pope and was shot by Herb Ritts for Vanity Fair as Pan. He recently played a 70-year-old woman. He has been a Lee Jeans model and on a stamp. He is a Tony and Olivier award winning theatre actor. He hosted the Tonys and was nominated for an Emmy for doing so. In fact, he has been nominated for seven Emmys, winning four for his work as the host and producer of the US Traitors along with another New York Emmy, a Scottish BAFTA and a British Comedy Award. He is an Independent Spirit award-winning producer and National Board of Review winning director. He is a Grammy and multiple Golden Globe nominee. His portrait was hung in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. He has four honourary doctorates and over forty awards for being a humanitarian, but as he says, ‘awards mean nothing’!

ABOUT OUR HONOREE

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Robert Englund to the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” stated Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer. “I think the timing of having Robert’s star on Halloween is most fitting as Robert’s legacy is deeply entwined with the very spirit of Halloween. Fans and industry peers alike will gather to celebrate a performer whose iconic work continues to haunt and inspire audiences around the globe,” added Martinez.

Robert Englund is best known for his iconic portrayal of Freddy Krueger in New Line Cinema’s A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. He is a versatile actor who has appeared in over eighty films, multiple TV series, and countless guest star roles.

Born in Glendale, California, he is the son of an aeronautics engineer who helped develop the Lockheed U-2 airplane. At 12 years old he was a happy-go-lucky surfer dude, who stumbled into his first acting class through a friend but fell in love with the craft and ended up finishing his education at the U.S. branch of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art at Oakland University in Detroit. After five years performing in classic plays on the East Coast, he returned to California and landed the first role he auditioned for in Buster and Billie. Soon after, he was cast as Willie in the hit show V. To avoid being typecast as a Southern sidekick or friendly alien, he auditioned for a little horror movie directed by Wes Craven. Wes intended to cast a hulking stuntman, but took a chance on Robert, who brought his classical theatrical training to the role and gave the physical presence of Freddy a gravitas and menace. The movie was a hit, spawned seven sequels, and became an international phenomenon that allowed New Line Cinema, “The House That Freddy Built,” to become a major player in the film world.

Robert Englund has worked alongside Henry Fonda, Jeff Bridges, Sally Field, Barbara Streisand, James Earl Jones, Sissy Spacek, Richard Gere, and countless others over his lasting career, and continues to be in demand as an actor and voice-over artist. His latest role is in season 4 of Stranger Things. His upcoming film is the animated “Pinocchio: Unstrung” where he portrays Jiminy Crickett and will be released on October 26 by ITN as an independent film.  A Nightmare on Elm Street 7-Film 4K UHD collection is also now available from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

Englund supports ScaresThatCare.org and the Laguna Beach High School Scholarship.

ABOUT OUR HONOREE

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Def Leppard to the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” stated Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer. “We can’t wait to rock out with them as they receive their star! From their explosive anthems to their legendary live shows, Def Leppard has earned a permanent place not only in music history, but now on one of the most famous sidewalks in the world, added Martinez.

With more than 110 million albums sold worldwide and two prestigious Diamond Awards in the U.S., Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Def Leppard — Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick Savage (bass), Vivian Campbell (guitar) and Rick Allen (drums) — continue to be one of the most important forces in rock music. Over the course of their career, the band has produced a series of classic ground-breaking albums that set the bar for generations of music fans and artists alike. The group’s spectacular live shows and arsenal of hits have become synonymous with their name, leading Def Leppard to be heralded as the world’s greatest live rock band.

Def Leppard’s influential career includes numerous hit singles and ground-breaking multi-platinum albums, including two of the best-selling albums of all time, Pyromania (11x Platinum) and Hysteria (14x Platinum), capturing the group’s legendary tracks such as “Rock of Ages,” “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” and “Foolin’.” Additionally, the band has garnered an impressive 20 million followers across their social media platforms. In May 2022, Def Leppard released their critically and commercially acclaimed twelfth studio album, Diamond Star Halos. The album debuted at #1 on the Apple and Amazon Music charts, scored a Top 10 debut on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart marking the band’s eighth Top 10 album of their career, and garnered a #1 debut on Billboard’s Hard Rock chart. Globally, Diamond Star Halos notched numerous Top 10 chart entries, including a Top 5 debut in the UK. Following this success, the band released their 13th studio album Drastic Symphonies with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in 2023. The album charted at #4 in the UK album charts—their highest UK chart entry in over 32 years—and spent an impressive 15 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Current Classical chart.

In early 2023, the band scored a U.K. #1 Netflix film with their cameo in the acclaimed movie Bank of Dave, and returned for the film’s highly anticipated sequel Bank of Dave 2, released in January of this year.

Following the close of their historic 2018 co-headline stadium and arena run in North America, Def Leppard sold more than 1,000,000 tickets, a massive feat in today’s touring world. Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe topped that number yet again with another sold out stadium run in 2022 and 2023, selling over 2.1 million tickets across the globe while performing in 27 countries and on five continents.

Following their Summer Stadium Tour with Journey last summer, the group continues to push the boundaries with their electrifying live shows as they head out on the road again this summer with a number of headline shows and festival dates. Most recently, the band teamed up with legendary guitarist Tom Morello for their single “Just Like 73,” which soared to #1 on the Mediabase Classic Rock chart.
