“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is deeply honored to celebrate Chadwick Boseman’s extraordinary legacy with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His powerful performances and enduring impact both on and off screen continue to inspire generations around the world.” – Ana Martinez, Hollywood Walk of Fame Producer.

A native of South Carolina, Chadwick Boseman was fueled by purpose and the power of God. It was at Howard University, The Mecca, that Boseman began to define that purpose through writing, directing, acting, and activism.

His breakout performance came in 2013 when he slid into the weighty shoes of Jackie Robinson in 42. His portrayal garnered rave reviews and would be the first in a long list of American heroes he would go on to personify. Boseman received numerous accolades for his masterful portrayal of James Brown in Get On Up, a role that would set him apart and establish him as a leading man in the industry. He next starred in the title role of Marshall, which follows a young Thurgood Marshall as he battles through a career-defining court case.

Boseman then joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the African superhero “Black Panther” in Captain America: Civil War. This marked the film debut for the character “T’Challa.” Boseman brought the character to the forefront starring in his own solo film, Black Panther, which received critical acclaim, broke global box office records, and had social and cultural impact around the world. The film received seven Academy Award nominations, including Marvel’s first-ever Best Picture Nomination. Boseman won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture, as well as the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture alongside the film’s ensemble.

Boseman starred in 21 Bridges, which he produced with his partner Logan Coles through their shingle, X●ception Content. In 2020, he appeared in Da 5 Bloods, directed by Academy Award winner Spike Lee, as fallen soldier “Stormin’ Norman”. Boseman’s character guides his fellow vets through their inner battles with acceptance and mental health. In Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, a screen adaptation of the famed August Wilson play, Boseman starred as Levee, opposite Viola Davis. The film featured an award-winning team behind the camera in producer, director, and writer with Denzel Washington, George C. Wolfe, and Ruben Santiago-Hudson. His captivating performance garnered an Academy Award nomination and won him the NAACP Image Award, Critics’ Choice, and Screen Actors Guild Awards, as well as numerous other honors.

That same year, Netflix and Howard University partnered to establish the $5.4 million endowed scholarship to honor alumnus Chadwick Boseman. The Chadwick A. Boseman Memorial Scholarship provides incoming students in the College of Fine Arts with a four-year scholarship to cover the full cost of university tuition.

ABOUT OUR HONOREE

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Robert Englund to the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” stated Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer. “I think the timing of having Robert’s star on Halloween is most fitting as Robert’s legacy is deeply entwined with the very spirit of Halloween. Robert Englund is best known for his iconic portrayal of Freddy Krueger in New Line Cinema’s A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. He is a versatile actor who has appeared in over eighty films, multiple TV series, and countless guest star roles.

Born in Glendale, California, he is the son of an aeronautics engineer who helped develop the Lockheed U-2 airplane. At 12 years old he was a happy-go-lucky surfer dude, who stumbled into his first acting class through a friend but fell in love with the craft and ended up finishing his education at the U.S. branch of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art at Oakland University in Detroit. After five years performing in classic plays on the East Coast, he returned to California and landed the first role he auditioned for in Buster and Billie. Soon after, he was cast as Willie in the hit show V. To avoid being typecast as a Southern sidekick or friendly alien, he auditioned for a little horror movie directed by Wes Craven. Wes intended to cast a hulking stuntman, but took a chance on Robert, who brought his classical theatrical training to the role and gave the physical presence of Freddy a gravitas and menace. The movie was a hit, spawned seven sequels, and became an international phenomenon that allowed New Line Cinema, “The House That Freddy Built,” to become a major player in the film world.

Robert Englund has worked alongside Henry Fonda, Jeff Bridges, Sally Field, Barbara Streisand, James Earl Jones, Sissy Spacek, Richard Gere, and countless others over his lasting career, and continues to be in demand as an actor and voice-over artist. His latest role is in season 4 of Stranger Things. His upcoming film is the animated “Pinocchio: Unstrung” where he portrays Jiminy Crickett and will be released on October 26 by ITN as an independent film.  A Nightmare on Elm Street 7-Film 4K UHD collection is also now available from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

Englund supports ScaresThatCare.org and the Laguna Beach High School Scholarship.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce administers the legendary Walk of Fame for the City of Los Angeles and has proudly hosted the globally iconic star ceremonies for decades. Millions of people from here and around the world have visited this cultural landmark since 1960.

ABOUT OUR HONOREE

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Chris Wallace to the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” stated Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer. “The legacy continues to shine brightly as his star is unveiled right next to the star of his father Mike Wallace, a true testament to their unmatched contributions to the news and entertainment industry,” added Martinez.

Chris Wallace is one of the nation’s most accomplished journalists, with an unparalleled and award-winning track record across broadcast television, cable television, streaming, print, and independent content creation. Over the course of his career, he has reported on national and international affairs at the highest level, giving him a deep understanding of politics and global relations, as well as a broad network of relationships in Washington and world capitals. In a Morning Consult poll in May 2024, Wallace was one of the most trusted anchors in broadcast journalism. During his career, Wallace has served as an anchor on NBC, ABC, Fox News, and CNN. His work has won every major broadcast news award, including three Emmy Awards, the Dupont-Columbia Silver Baton, the Peabody Award, the Polk Award, and the Paul White Award for Lifetime Achievement.

These decades of experience have given Wallace a celebrated ability to “see around corners,” recognize patterns, spot trends, and identify outcomes before they happen. During the 2024 Presidential campaign, Wallace’s analysis and insights made headlines in coverage of the Biden-Trump debate, the Harris-Trump debate, and his commentary after the first exit polls were released on Election Night that it “would take a miracle for Harris to win” before any of the polls closed across the country.

Most recently, Wallace spent three years at CNN as the anchor of the weekly political program The Chris Wallace Show, as well as host of the interview show Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?—where his guests ranged from retired Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, to Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, to movie stars George Clooney and Harrison Ford and music virtuoso Jon Batiste. He was also a top analyst for CNN’s coverage of the U.S. presidential debates and election.

Prior to CNN, Wallace worked at Fox News for 18 years and hosted Fox News Sunday. He is the first and only Fox anchor ever to moderate a general election Presidential debate, both in 2016 and again in 2020. Through it all, Wallace applied his unbiased and probing approach to interviews, sitting down with every Democratic and Republican president since Ronald Reagan, world leaders including Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron, and leading his team on groundbreaking, award-winning investigations.

While at Fox News, Wallace secured the channel’s first interview with President Barack Obama in February 2009 and went on to interview the former president more than anyone at the network.

Prior to that, he worked for 14 years as Chief Correspondent for ABC’s Primetime, as well as chief substitute anchor for Ted Koppel on Nightline. During the first Gulf War, he reported for ABC from Tel Aviv when it came under Iraqi missile attack. From 1978 to 1989, he worked for NBC in key posts, including 6 years as Chief White House Correspondent during the presidency of Ronald Reagan. He also anchored Meet the Press, making him the only person to host two Sunday morning news programs.

Wallace has written three books in his Countdown series—Countdown 1945 on the decision to drop the atomic bomb on Hiroshima; Countdown bin Laden on the hunt to bring the mastermind of the 9/11 terror attack to justice; and Countdown 1960 on the Kennedy-Nixon election and how it changed presidential politics. All 3 books were New York Times bestsellers.

The son of legendary broadcast journalist Mike Wallace, Wallace decided to become a reporter after working while still in high school as an intern for Walter Cronkite during the 1964 Republican convention. After graduating with honors from Harvard College, Wallace landed his first job at The Boston Globe, where he worked his way from covering City Hall to serving as the paper’s National Reporter.

Wallace was an unofficial adviser to the Commission on Presidential Debates from 2020 to 2024. He is also an adviser to the Wallace House Center for Journalists at the University of Michigan.
