The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which administers the popular star ceremonies, encourages people who are unable to attend and fans around the world to watch the event live exclusively on www.walkoffame.com.

Oscar and Emmy winning composer Jerry Goldsmith was considered one of Hollywood’s most respected and admired creators of music for motion pictures and television. The composer of such classic scores as Chinatown, Patton, Planet of the Apes, The Sand Pebbles, A Patch of Blue, Poltergeist, Basic Instinct, Papillon, Rudy, Gremlins, Mulan, L.A. Confidential.  Goldsmith was sought-after by filmmakers, acclaimed by critics, and adored by the Hollywood music community.

He received a total of 18 Academy Award nominations, and won the Oscar in 1976 for Best Music, Original Score for his powerful orchestral and choral score forThe Omen. Two of the American Film Institute’s top 25 film scores of all time are by Goldsmith: Chinatown and Planet of the Apes.

Goldsmith was nominated seven times for an Emmy and won five Emmys for his television music, including the landmark miniseries QB VII (1975) and Masada (1981), the TV-moviesThe Red Pony (1973) and Babe (1975) and the theme for Star Trek: Voyager (1995). He also received nine Golden Globe nominations for his film scores and seven Grammy nominations for the soundtracks of his various TV and movie scores.

Goldsmith’s music is played virtually every hour of every day around the world. This is in part due to his many contributions to big and small screen incarnations of the legendary Star Trek. He scored five of the movies for the franchise, and his heraldic theme for Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) became the well-known signature for the long running TV series, Star Trek: The Next Generation.

During his career which spanned more than 50 years, Goldsmith composed the music for nearly 200 films, over a dozen iconic TV themes, and another 20 TV movies and miniseries. No composer was more respected by fellow practitioners of the craft as much as Goldsmith was for his unerring dramatic instincts and his innovative and even groundbreaking application of many different musical sounds and styles.

Goldsmith was born February 10, 1929 in Los Angeles, California. Classically trained, he studied piano and composition from a young age and was, from the time he was a teenager, determined to write music for movies. After studying at both USC and Los Angeles City College, he went to work at CBS, which employed him as a composer for radio and TV throughout the 1950s. He wrote his first score for a feature length film, “Black Patch,” in 1957. However,he continued to work in TV through the 1960s and early 1970s, and composed scores and familiar themes including Dr. Kildare, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Hollywood Television Theater (PBS) andThe Waltons, as well as scoring episodes of classic series including The Twilight Zone and Gunsmoke.

In addition to his busy film and TV schedule, Goldsmith also composed for concert halls. His symphonic works include a cantata, Christus Apollo (1969)with words by Ray Bradbury, narrated by Charlton Heston and later by Sir Anthony Hopkins; Music for Orchestra (1971), commissioned by the St. Louis Symphony and Fireworks:A Celebration of Los Angeles (1999), commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Following the attack of9/11, Goldsmith composed an in memoriam. The elegy, September 11, 2001, which was performed at the Hollywood Bowl days after the tragedy.

Notably, in 1998, he was commissioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to create an anthem for its annual awards ceremony. Goldsmith’s Fanfare for Oscar debuted at the 70th annual Academy Awards and is still being played every year during Oscar telecasts.

Worldwide, Goldsmith conducted major orchestras, performing concerts of his music. In the United States, some of the orchestras he conducted included the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Washington D.C., and the New York Filmharmonic Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. Internationally, Goldsmith conducted the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Madrid Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Seville Orchestra and Japan’s, Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra.

Goldsmith received many honors during his lifetime, including Variety's first American Music Legend Award (1995); an honorary doctorate from Boston’s Berklee College of Music (1990); lifetime achievement awards from the American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers (ASMAC 1990), and the Society for the Preservation of Film Music (1993); two governors’ awards from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS 1994, 1999); and an honorary membership in London’s Royal Academy of Music (2003). In addition to these accolades, Goldsmith is immortalized with astatuette in his likeness awarded at Spain’s International Film Music Festival. Each year for the past decade, the festival’s highest honor, “the Jerry” is awarded to an individual for excellence in the art of film music.

Giving back to the community that nurtured him and launched his career, Goldsmith began teaching in the 1990s: as the instructor of the Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television course at the University of Southern California, and then also as a Regents Lecturer in the Department of Music at the University of California at Los Angeles. He became a Visiting Professor at UCLA, teaching a yearly composition class. Additionally, in a mentoring capacity, he conducted the Young Musicians Foundation Orchestra, the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, and the Disney Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra.

Several college scholarship funds bear his name, including the Jerry & Carol Goldsmith Music Scholarship at Los Angeles City College, and two fully endowed scholarships for composition at UCLA: the BMI / Jerry Goldsmith Film Scoring Scholarship and the Jerry Goldsmith Scholarship Fund for Film Music Composition. There is also a Jerry Goldsmith Memorial Fund for Cancer Research at the Tower Cancer Research Foundation in Los Angeles.

In the days following his death in 2004, the beloved composer was eulogized on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives with the following tribute: “Jerry Goldsmith leaves behind a distinguished repertoire of outstanding and memorable film scores and television themes that are as recognizable as they are innovative.” “His versatility and genius” were cited and Jerry Goldsmith was declared a national treasure!

Helping Emcee and Hollywood Chamber President/CEO Leron Gubler to unveil the stars were guest speakers Kate Hudson, Quentin Tarantino and Reese Witherspoon.

Kurt Russell is now in the middle of six decades of delivering memorable comedic and dramatic film performances as well as creating iconic film characters. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts and started his acting career in 1961 at the age of 10.  In 1963 he starred in the title role of ABC’s Western “The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters,” Throughout his early years, he appeared in television’s most storied shows: Gilligan’s Island, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., “Lost In Space,” “The Virginian,” “Laredo”, “The High Chaparral,” “Daniel Boone,” “Gunsmoke,” “Love American Style,” “Harry O,” “Hawaii Five-0,” and “Police Story,” to name but a few.  He starred in two other network series along the way: NBC’s “The New Land” and ABC’s western, “The Quest”.  During this early period, he also began one of the longest lasting relationships in movie history between an actor and a studio . . . The Walt Disney Studio.  Signed by Walt Disney himself to a seven year exclusive contract, Russell first co-starred opposite Fred MacMurray and Vera Miles in 1966’s “Follow Me, Boys!” for which he was singled out as film’s Newcomer of the year.  Over the next forty plus years, Russell would star or co-star in Disney films sixteen times while also starring in many Wonderful World of Color television series and specials.  Some of those fan favorites from the 60s and 70s are; “The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes,” “The Barefoot Executive,” “The Strongest Man In The World,” “Now You See Him,” “Now You Don’t,” “Superdad,” “The Fox And The Hound” and later in “Captain Ron,” “Miracle” and what is now considered by many one of the greatest and easily most quoted westerns made, “Tombstone”.  The Disney/Russell relationship continues with “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2. which will be released on May 5.

It was perhaps his performance as Elvis Presley in ABC’s highly acclaimed “Elvis,” his first of many collaborations with director John Carpenter, that alerted the film world to the wide range of roles this actor had in store.  Russell received a Primetime Emmy nomination for “Elvis.”   He refused to be typecast within one perception, and so began a vast array of unique characters in an equally wide range of genres throughout his career.

Some of his past starring roles include a slick, totally unscrupulous cars salesman “Rudy Russo” in Robert Zemeckis’ outrageous cult comedy “Used Cars.”  He followed that with another John Carpenter film, the dystopian futuristic suspense filled “Escape From New York,” where an iconic cult character was born, “Snake Plissken.”  Carpenter and Russell teamed again to create another cult classic in the horror/sci-fi thriller “The Thing.”   Next was a straight dramatic turn as Meryl Streep’s wistful lover in Mike Nichols Academy Award nominated “Silkwood,” which garnered Russell a Golden Globe nomination. That led to starring opposite Goldie Hawn in Jonathan Demme’s World War Two dramedy “Swing Shift.”  It was during this movie where Hawn and Russell fell in love and started what would become one of filmdom’s most heralded and long lasting love affairs.  Hawn and Russell would star together one last time (so far) in one of the most beloved romantic comedies of our generation, “Overboard.”  The comedy “The Best Of Times” with Robin Williams was followed by the suspense terror filled “The Mean Season,” and again with John Carpenter as the adventurous lovable blowhard “Jack Burton” in yet another film destined to become a true cult classic, “Big Trouble In Little China”.   Among the many movies Russell starred in during the 80s and 90s were standouts like Robert Towne’s Noir drama “Tequila Sunrise” opposite Mel Gibson, the action packed laugher “Tango and Cash” with Sylvester Stallone, and Ron Howard’s epic film honoring the heroism of dedicated firemen in “Back Draft.”   Those movies along with “Captain Ron,” “Tombstone,” “Executive Decision,” the taut thriller “Breakdown” and the sci-fi surprise of the decade “Stargate,” all opened as number one movies.

The actor who refused to be defined by one type of role or genre had become an international movie star.  But yet to come was the insane, broken down, car crashing killer “Stuntman Mike” in Quentin Tarantino’s retro 70’s “Death Proof,” followed by another Tarantino partnership as the bombastic paranoid bounty hunter “John the Hangman Ruth” in “The Hateful Eight”.

Most recently he starred as “Mr. Jimmy,” the manager of the fated drilling rig in Pete Berg’s dramatization of the real life tragedy “Deepwater Horizon” and “Sheriff Hunt” in “Bone Tomahawk,” a movie so cultish that many have claimed has no genre. Most recently, Russell reprised his role as “Mr. Nobody” in the 7th installment of “The Fast And Furious” saga, the mysterious man with no name who continues to confound in “The Fate Of The Furious,” which is in theatres now and is the biggest opening movie of all time. Russell can next be seen in a small but sweet little movie called “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” which will be released May 5.

Russell is also involved with the Hawn Foundation.

His Emmy Award-winning television series, “Wolfgang Puck,” debuted on The Food Network in 2001 and aired for five seasons. He has been a regular guest on ABC’s Good Morning America since 1986, the year he also produced his first instructional cooking video, Spago Cooking with Wolfgang Puck. Puck has made guest appearances on a multitude of television shows including The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, The Ellen De Generes Show, Entertainment Tonight, E! Rogue presents an intimate, and untraditional tasting menu experience for eight guests each night.

Puck began cooking as a child, at his mother’s side. She was a chef in the Austrian town where he was born, Sankt Veit an der Glan and with her encouragement, Puck started his formal training at fourteen years of age. As a young chef, he worked in some of France’s greatest restaurants, including Maxim’s in Paris, the Hotel de Paris in Monaco, and the Michelin 2-starred L’Oustau de Baumanière in Les Baux-de-Provence, in France. At the age of 24, Puck took the advice of a friend and left Europe for the United States. His first American job was in 1973 at the restaurant La Tour in Indianapolis, where he worked for two years.

In 1975, Puck came to Los Angeles and quickly garnered the attention of the Hollywood elite as chef of Ma Maison in West Hollywood. His dynamic personality and culinary brilliance that bridged tradition and invention made Ma Maison a magnet for the rich and famous, with Puck as the star attraction. He had an innate understanding of the potential for California cuisine, and was pivotal in its rise to national attention during the late 1970s.

From Ma Maison, Wolfgang went on to create his first flagship restaurant, Spago, originally located in West Hollywood on the Sunset Strip and now on Canon Drive in Beverly Hills. From its opening day in 1982, Spago was an instant success and a culinary phenomenon. Puck and his restaurant Spago earned many accolades during its popular eighteen years in West Hollywood, including winning the prestigious James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Chef of the Year,   in 1991 and 1998, and the James Beard Foundation Award for Restaurant of the Year in 1994. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honored Chef Bobby Flay with the 2,553rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. PDT. The star in the category of Television was dedicated in front of Eastown Apartments at 6141 Hollywood Boulevard. Flay is the first chef to be honored with a star on the famous Walk of Fame. Event was live-streamed exclusively on www.walkoffame.com

Helping Emcee Leron Gubler, Hollywood Chamber President/CEO to unveil the star were and guest speakers Iron Chef Michael Symon, President of Food Network & Cooking Channel, Brooke Johnson and daughter Sophie Flay. “We are thrilled to honor our very first culinary star on our fabled Walk of Fame,” stated Leron Gubler. “Bobby Flay has entertained the masses with his culinary expertise and has opened the eyes of food lovers everywhere.”

A native of New York City, Bobby Flay has come a long way in both the entertainment and restaurant industry since he discovered his culinary identity at the age of 17.

From his first appearance on Food Network in 1994, Flay has been a continued presence hosting programs which are both entertaining and informative, bringing cooking tips and information on American regional fare to a national audience. Flay’s show, Grillin’ & Chillin’, premiered in 1996, followed by Hot Off the Grill and Emmy award-winner Boy Meets Grill, as well as his hit series, Throwdown with Bobby Flay. Currently, the chef and culinary superstar can be seen in his most recent primetime hit series, Beat Bobby Flay, as well as his daytime Emmy award-winning Bobby Flay’s Barbecue Addiction. And on June 7th, he returns as co-host for season eleven of Food Network Star, where along with Giada De Laurentiis and Food Network execs, Flay will be looking for the next great television food personality. He can also be seen alongside many familiar Food Network faces in the new series Guilty Pleasures, reigning supreme in Kitchen Stadium as one of the original US Iron Chefs in Iron Chef America on Food Network, as well as Brunch @ Bobby’s, on both Food Network and sister network Cooking Channel. As if that weren’t enough, Flay is also a staple on numerous seasonal and holiday specials, including his most recent Emmy award-nominated, Thanksgiving at Bobby’s.

Flay’s shows have not only received several Emmy® awards and nominations, but also James Beard Foundation Awards and nominations as well as a People’s Choice Award nomination. In addition to his on-camera roles, Flay is a talented producer through his Rock Shrimp Productions banner, which is currently producing Beat Bobby Flay andBrunch @ Bobby’s and has previously delivered popular series 5 Ingredient Fix, Alex’s Day Off, Kelsey’s Essentials, Mexican Made Easy andSandwich King.  Flay also created Bobby Flay Fit, his first lifestyle series for FoodNetwork.com.

In addition to his extensive body of work on Food Network and Cooking Channel, Flay has also lent his culinary expertise to numerous talk shows and morning shows including CBS This Morning and the Today Show, sharing delicious recipes which he demonstrates with ease, making them accessible and achievable for a national audience. Flay also expanded his small screen credits out of the kitchen to include a star turn as himself on the HBO series Entourage.

Flay works tirelessly to challenge the way Americans view and taste food – making it bold, zesty and always fun. He continues to share his knowledge and enthusiasm for food through his cookbooks and cooking programs. Bobby’s thirteenth cookbook “Brunch @ Bobby’s” (Clarkson Potter) will hit bookstores in Fall 2015.

At the very young age of 17, Flay started working as a cook at the famed Theatre District haunt, Joe Allen’s. The job had been arranged by his father, who was a partner in the restaurant. After a short time, Joe Allen himself became so impressed by Flay’s talents that he paid the young cook’s tuition to the French Culinary Institute.

Following his graduation in 1984, Flay worked with restaurateur/owner Jonathan Waxman at Buds and Jams, where he first discovered the sweet-heat of Southwestern ingredients. It was at these burgeoning restaurants that Flay met other icons of the era – Wolfgang Puck, Jeremiah Tower – who he credits with spawning an entire generation of chefs. After Jams, Flay debuted as Executive Chef at the East Village’s Miracle Grill where he caught the attention of restaurateur Jerome Kretchmer. Kretchmer offered the 25-year old the opportunity to create his own sensation at Mesa Grill, which opened in 1991.

Two years later, Flay teamed with businessman Laurence Kretchmer to open Bolo in November 1993. During Bolo’s reign, Flay drew inspiration from the bravado and complexities of Spanish food, deftly blending the unique flavors of Spain with more familiar American ingredients. A decade later, Bolo was awarded a rare three stars by The New York Times.

Flay brought his unique amalgam of innovative food and inviting hospitality to Las Vegas with the 2004 opening of Mesa Grill at the legendary Caesars Palace. The City’s upbeat urban energy continues to provide an ideal backdrop for Mesa Grill’s lively cuisine.

At his New York eatery, Bar Americain, which opened in March 2005, Bobby Flay takes the intimacy of a midtown brasserie and injects it with authentic American flavors and style. Drawing from regional American ingredients, Flay’s dishes rejuvenate old classics and celebrate the abundance of America’s diverse and delicious heritage. Bar Americain has received rave reviews from the press, including two stars from The New York Times and in November 2009, Bobby Flay brought Bar Americain to Connecticut opening up in the Mohegan Sun.

Bobby Flay Steak, which opened in July 2006 in Atlantic City, is Flay’s first-ever steakhouse. At this restaurant, he presents classic steakhouse fare that he remembers enjoying as a child in New York City and on the Jersey Shore as well as new dishes that incorporate his famous grilling techniques and signature Southwestern fare.

In March 2007, Flay brought Mesa Grill to The Cove, Atlantis in Paradise Island, Bahamas and in July 2008, Bobby opened his first Bobby’s Burger Palace (BBP) in Long Island. At BBP,  Flay presents an array of burgers inspired by his extensive travels and love of the grill in a convenient casual setting. To date, there are 18 BBP outposts with additional locations on the way.   Flay’s sixth fine dining restaurant, Gato, opened March 2014 in New York City’s NOHO District.
