“Will Ferrell has made the world laugh with his hilarious characterizations and brilliant timing in films that have entertained so many people. We are proud to add this comedic genius to the Hollywood Walk of Fame!” stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies.

Helping emcee and Hollywood Chamber President/CEO Leron Gubler to unveil the star will be actors John C. Reilly and Molly Shannon.

Ferrell’s latest film is the upcoming Warner Bros. comedy “Get Hard,” in which he stars opposite Kevin Hart.  It opened nationwide on March 27, 2015.

Born and raised in Irvine, California, Ferrell graduated from USC with a degree in sports information. He worked as a sportscaster on a local weekly cable show before enrolling in acting classes and stand-up comedy workshops. He was asked to join the esteemed comedy/improv group The Groundlings after just one year of training. It was at The Groundlings that Ferrell was discovered for “Saturday Night Live”

Ferrell has come a long way since “SNL,” crossing over from television icon to a motion picture star, producer and internet pioneer. He starred for seven seasons on NBC’s seminal late-night hit after taking the nation by storm during the show’s “Indecision 2000,” with his portrayal of President George W. Bush. Some of his most memorable “SNL” characters include Craig the Spartan Spirit Cheerleader, musical middle school teacher Marty Culp, and George W. Bush. Among his many impressions were Janet Reno, Alex Trebek, Neil Diamond and the late, Chicago Cubs sportscaster Harry Caray. His work on “SNL” earned Ferrell two Emmy nominations in 2001, for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program, and Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Program.

Ferrell most recently reprised his role as Ron Burgundy, the character he made famous in the 2004 comedy “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.” Ferrell co-wrote both films with director Adam McKay under their Gary Sanchez production shingle. “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” has earned over $172-million worldwide to date.

Ferrell also recently lent his voice to the character Lord Business in the animated film “The LEGO® Movie,” which has gone on to earn over $441-million in the worldwide box office.

Previously, Ferrell starred opposite Zach Galifianakis in “The Campaign,”and the ambitious “Casa de mi Padre,” a comedy spoof in the Latin American telenovela style, filmed entirely in Spanish, for which Ferrell served as producer and also starred as the lead. Ferrell’s many film credits also include “Elf,” “Zoolander,” “Old School,” and the screen adaptation of “The Producers,” which earned him his first Golden Globe nomination in 2006 for Best Supporting Actor. In 2007, Ferrell earned his second Golden Globe nomination, for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical, for his portrayal of IRS agent Harold Crick in “Stranger Than Fiction.”

Ferrell earned a 2009 Tony Award nomination for his Broadway debut, headlining the sold-out, Tony-nominated one-man comedy show “Will Ferrell: You’re Welcome America, A Final Night with George W Bush,” directed by Adam McKay, in which he perfected his infamous “Saturday Night Live” characterization of President Bush. At the end of its Broadway run, Ferrell performed the show, live, in its entirety on HBO, earning a pair of Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Comedy Special and Outstanding Writing.

In 2007, Ferrell and McKay founded the popular and award-winning video website Funnyordie.com. With hundreds of exclusive celebrity videos and a steady stream of huge viral hits, ‘Funny Or Die’ has become the place to be seen for comedic celebrities, and the obvious destination for a daily comedy fix. Its first video, “The Landlord,” has received over 81 million views and the site averages over 20-million unique visitors and 60-million page views per month.

Through their company, Gary Sanchez Productions, Ferrell and McKay wrote the HBO comedy series “Eastbound and Down,” starring Danny McBride, and the 2014feature comedy “Tammy,” starring Melissa McCarthy. The company currently has several feature projects in the works.

Gary Sanchez supported the 2006 Sundance hit “The Foot Fist Way,” starring McBride, who also co-wrote with director Jody Hill; “The Goods: LiveHard, Sell Hard,” starring Jeremy Piven; and “Step Brothers,” which earned over $100 million domestically. In 2006, Ferrell starred in the hit comedy “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,” with co-stars John C. Reilly and Sacha Baron Cohen. Earning nearly $150-million at the U.S. box office, the film became the season’s No. 1 non-animated comedy and continues to set records on DVD.

A testament to his impact on the American comedic landscape, Ferrell was named the recipient of the 2011 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The award recognizes people who have had an impact on American society in the same vein as social commentator, satirist, and the creator of memorable characters, Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain).

Schulz!” stated Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies. “We hope that he writes about this special honor in his great American novel!”

Beloved since 1950, Snoopy is the world’s best known and accomplished beagle, the original “Joe Cool,” a world-famous novelist, and a celebrated World War I Flying Ace. As he has throughout his illustrious career, Snoopy is making history – as the first beagle to receive the coveted Walk of Fame star honor. When asked how he felt about receiving this great honor, Snoopy responded enthusiastically, “Woof!"

And, Snoopy’s trusted sidekick Woodstock, squawked and squeaked: “!!!????!!!”

Snoopy has a very busy career. At last count, he has worked on 45 television specials, four motion picture films and one Saturday morning TV show. This year also marks the 65th anniversary of the debut of the “Peanuts” comic strip and the 50th anniversary of the landmark television special, “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

Peanuts creator Charles Schulz drew the most popular and influential comic strip of all time, which was read every day by 355 million people in 75 countries. In addition to the famous strip, Peanuts holiday television specials such as “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” have won several Emmys and are among the highest rated primetime TV specials.

The Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign will team with 20th Century Fox’s “The Peanuts Movie” this Halloween to help raise funds for children in need.

Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of “The Peanuts Movie” characters will support the philanthropic effort, which has raised more than $175 million for UNICEF to provide children around the world with medicine, nutrition, clean water, emergency relief and education.

Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Honors *NSYNC with Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Watch the ceremony as the Hollywood Chamber and *NSYNC unveill the Walk of Fame star below

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce proudly honored musical band *NSYNC with the 2,636th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today, April 30, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. PDT. The star was dedicated in the category of Recording at 7080 Hollywood Boulevard near the corner of LaBrea. They joined other boy bands at that location including: Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men, New Kids On the Block, and New Edition.

“*NSYNC fans have been patiently waiting for their favorite group to set a date and we are announcing the date earlier than usual so they can start making plans to visit Hollywood and see *NSYNC” stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies.

Helping Emcee Leron Gubler, President & CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to unveil the star were celebrity speakers Ellen DeGeneres and Carson Daly.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce which administers the popular star ceremonies encourages people who are unable to attend and fans around the world to watch the event exclusively on www.walkoffame.com.

*NSYNC – Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and Justin Timberlake have sold over nearly 30 million records in the U.S. and 42 million more worldwide. The group charted with a dozen singles, conquering Top 40, AC, Dance, Latin, Country and R&B charts. Their gargantuan worldwide “No Strings Attached” arena tour and “PopOdyssey” stadium tour rewrote sales, artistic and technical standards for road shows (when tickets for the first 52 “Strings” dates went on sale, tickets sold out in record times). Later, the stripped down “Celebrity” tour zeroed in on *NSYNC’s musical prowess. The group even refined the definition of a boy band, working with “grown-up” acts like Gloria Estefan, Celine Dion, Phil Collins and Richard Marx.

*NSYNC’s first single “I Want You Back” snatched three long-held records: it hit the singles charts faster than any other new act (after one week) and had the longest Top 10 stay ever for a new group (eight weeks), while they became the fastest newcomer to hit the Top 10 (in three weeks) “I Want You Back” also hit No. 13 on the singles chart, sold a million copies and remained active at radio for half a year. From there, *NSYNC cruised onto the fast track, making history with most every move. Their self-titled debut album ultimately peaked at No. 2 and sold more than 10 million copies stateside; the group was named the No. 3 new act of 1998 by Billboard. Their third single, the ballad “(God Must Have Spent) A Little More Time on You” became *NSYNC’s first top 10 release and a No. 2 at AC radio, Fourth radio-friendly pop single, “I Drive Myself Crazy” followed. At the end of 1998, *NSYNC’s self-titled 18-month-old debut CD was the No. 4 disc of the year in 1999, while they were deemed the No. 2 pop album group/duo.As the new millennium dawned, the group contributed vocals to Gloria Estefan’s “Music of My Heart” which became *NSYNC’s biggest hit to date, peaking at No. 2 on the singles chart and at AC radio.

The release of “No Strings Attached” in April 2000 marked a transition for the group, having inked a new deal with Jive Records the previous Fall. The CD debuted at No. 1 selling one million copies the first day, a record of 2.4 million copies the first week and spent eight consecutive weeks at the summit. The first single, the independence-themed “Bye Bye Bye,” not only resonated with listeners to the tune of No. 4 on the singles chart, but it was nominated for Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards. In an instant, the world’s most popular boy band graduated to the major leagues in terms of artistic achievement. Follow-up single, “It’s Gonna Be Me,” perhaps the group’s definitive dance refrain, at last catapulted *NSYNC to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the summer of 2000. Third release, the love ballad “This I Promise You,” written and produced by Richard Marx, displayed an elegance and maturity that made the song a true classic in the group’s catalog and one of the year’s indelible melodies; it was also *NSYNC’s fourth consecutive top 10 hit and their first AC No. 1. The song was also recorded in Spanish as “Yo Te Voy A Amar,” which *NSYNC performed on the Latin Grammy Awards. “No Strings Attached” finished as the best-selling album of the year, while the group was the leading top 40 act and top pop artist/duo of 2000.

The five-time platinum “Celebrity” spawned smashes, “Pop,” “Gone,” and “Girlfriend” featuring hip-hop namesake Nelly. Since going on hiatus in 2002, the guys have embarked on a number of creative independent endeavors, including solo albums, movies, Broadway, television and music production. *NSYNC’s musical legacy includes greatest hits where each song represents a milestone along the magical journey for a young vocal ensemble that set a new standard for pop quality, tenacity and celebrity.

On the philanthropic front the members of *NSYNC created their own 501c3 foundation Challenge For The Children which raised over $5,000,000 and offered financial support to various children’s charities throughout the United States.
