In a career spanning three decades of distinguished and immersive performances, Law brings a passion and curiosity to his craft both on stage and on screen, whether independent or tent pole productions. Additionally, with Riff Raff Entertainment Ltd., Law has established himself as a producer of note developing material from the ground up stemming from a desire to entertain, challenge and inform through inspired and fresh storytelling.

Upcoming, Law stars in Justin Kurzel’s The Order, produced by Riff Raff, which premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival to critical acclaim. Vertical will release the film exclusively in theatres on December 6. He also stars in the Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew from filmmakers Jon Watts and Chris Ford. Earlier this year, he portrayed Henry VIII in the Roadside Attractions historical thriller Firebrand. He also appears in Ron Howard’s thriller Eden alongside an ensemble cast, which premiered at the Toronto Internation Film festival, and recently wrapped production on the Netflix series Black Rabbit, also executive produced by Riff Raff, in which he stars opposite Jason Bateman.

Law has earned acclaim for his performances in various projects, including a Gotham Award nomination for Best Actor in The Nest (2020) and rave reviews for HBO’s innovative series The Third Day (2020). This groundbreaking drama featured an immersive live-streamed production, demonstrating Law’s commitment to blending theater and film.

Throughout his career, Law has collaborated with renowned filmmakers, including Anthony Minghella, who directed him in The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), earning Law a BAFTA Award and an Oscar nomination. He also starred in Minghella’s Cold Mountain (2003), securing additional nominations across prestigious awards. Law’s collaborations extend to Martin Scorsese in The Aviator (2004) and Hugo (2011), and to Steven Soderbergh in Contagion (2011) and Side Effects (2013).

With box office success totaling billions, Law has played key roles in significant films such as A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), and J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts franchise. He portrayed Albus Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) and its sequels, while also playing Dr. Watson in Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes series, both of which grossed over $500 million worldwide.

Law’s filmography includes a wide array of acclaimed titles such as Gattaca (1997), Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (1997), Closer (2004), and Captain Marvel (2019). Most recently, he portrayed Captain Hook in Peter Pan and Wendy (2023).

As a producer, Riff Raff has backed notable projects like True Things (2022), which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. The company is actively developing several series and films, including Black Rabbit and other projects featuring diverse talent.

In television, Law gained recognition for his role as Archbishop Lenny Belardo in Paolo Sorrentino’s The Young Pope (2016), earning a Golden Globe nomination and an award at the Venice Film Festival. He reprised his role in The New Pope (2020), which he also executive produced.

In the theater, Law is celebrated for his performances, receiving multiple accolades including the Critics’ Circle Theatre Award and a Tony Award nomination for Hamlet (2009). His stage credits also include Obsession (2017), Henry V (2013), and Anna Christie (2012).

In his youth, Law worked with the National Youth Music Theater and has appeared in several productions in the West End and at the National Theater.

Actress Juanita Moore was honored posthumously with the 2,793rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, October 18, at 11:30 am PT at 6100 Hollywood Boulevard. Moore was honored with a star in the category of Motion Pictures. Joining emcee Angelique Jackson were actresses Margaret Avery and Jayne Kennedy, actress and director Debbie Allen, and film critic Leonard Maltin. Accepting the award was Juanita’s nephew Arnett Moore who will accept for the family.

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is honored to dedicate a star to trailblazing actress Juanita Moore, whose contributions to the motion picture industry will forever be etched in history on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame,” stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies.

Juanita Moore was born on October 19, 1915, on the Moore family farm in Itta Bena, Mississippi, the youngest of nine children. Juanita’s mother, Willie Ella Dunn-Moore, eventually moved the family to Los Angeles during the Great Migration, after the death of her husband Harrison Moore.

In grade school, Juanita sang in the glee club and formed a female trio at Jefferson High School in Los Angeles. She was a 5’8” talented and natural beauty that afforded her an opportunity at age 17 to travel to New York during Harlem’s Renaissance to pursue a career in show business. She sang and danced throughout Harlem as a chorus girl and in 1933 appeared in two movies, Roman Scandals and So This Is Africa, as a dancer. At twenty years of age, Juanita moved to Europe, performing with Josephine Baker and other black performers in chorus lines.

During the late 1930s and early 1940s, Juanita sang and danced with chorus troupes in Black cinema and appeared in soundies such as Shine with Louis ‘Satchmo’ Armstrong and Paper Doll with the Mills Brothers and Dorothy Dandridge, who developed an enduring friendship with Juanita.

While studying at the racially integrated Actors’ Lab in Hollywood, she obtained her first film speaking role as a nurse in Pinky (1949). She studied at the Actors’ Lab with Marlon Brando, Dorothy Dandridge, and Marilyn Monroe, among other acting luminaries.

Moore’s breakthrough came at forty-four years of age with Universal’s “Imitation of Life” (1959) directed by Douglas Sirk. The film earned her an OSCAR nomination that same year for Best Supporting Actress which she was the fifth Black actor to be nominated in any category and third in this category.

During the 1960s, she was regularly seen on television productions such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, Wagon Train, Dragnet, Gentle Ben, and numerous others. She also appeared in films such as Walk on the Wild Side, Stanley Kramer’s A Child is Waiting with Burt Lancaster and Judy Garland, The Singing Nun with Debbie Reynolds, and Uptight with Ruby Dee.

As a founding member of the original Cambridge Players, she took a Los Angeles production of The Amen Corner to Broadway’s Ethel Barrymore Theater in April 1965.  She also supported the Ebony Showcase Theater in LA, which was a venue for black performers to play roles previously denied in mainstream theater productions. Here, she taught free acting lessons to neighborhood children and performed regularly.

Early in 2000, while semi-retired, Juanita was rediscovered by an agent in a chance meeting that led to a role in Walt Disney’s The Kid, her final feature film.

Juanita Moore’s unparalleled show business longevity, lasting over seven decades, and her refusal to accept demeaning roles earned her admiration throughout the entertainment industry. She developed numerous friendships in the industry, supported all individuals regardless of their race or sexual orientation, and was respected for speaking her mind.

The curtains closed for Juanita Moore at 98 years of age on December 31, 2013.

Batman received his star in the category of Motion Pictures. Joining emcee Steve Nissen were DC’s President, Publisher, and Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee and SVP & General Manager Anne DePies. Batman was also awarded the Guinness World Records title for the first superhero with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a special presentation by official GWR adjudicator Michael Empric.

            Created for DC Comics by Bob Kane with Bill Finger, Batman first appeared in 1939’s Detective Comics #27 and since then the Dark Knight has stood as a symbol of determination, courage, and justice to generations of fans for more than 85 years. Batman is one of the most iconic fictional characters in the world and a self-made Superhero, notable not for his superpowers but for his intelligence, determination, and tech savvy.

Batman is recognized across the globe thanks to his portrayal in universally beloved comics, TV shows, cartoons, and movies. From Adam West in the eponymous hit 1966 show, to the latest Caped Crusader as played by Robert Pattinson in The Batman, the image of Batman is reinvented for every generation by incredible writers and artists both behind the camera and at the drawing board.

A staple of Saturday morning cartoons, Batman has been a constant source of inspiration for children since 1968. Bruce Timm and Paul Dini’s Batman: The Animated Series would also bring acclaim by winning an Emmy for Outstanding Writing in an Animated Program, the first cartoon based on a comic book to do so. We would also be introduced to the voice that would be Batman for an entire generation, Kevin Conroy. Emmy award winner Ewan McGregor is considered one of today’s finest actors, with a diverse line-up of roles across a multitude of genres. From his breakthrough role as the heroin-addicted Mark Renton in Trainspotting, to the legendary Obi-Wan Kenobi in the second-released Star Wars trilogy and Disney+ special event series Obi-Wan, to starring in the Oscar and BAFTA Award-winning musical Moulin Rouge!, McGregor’s career has been highlighted by a continuous string of bold performances.

McGregor recently wrapped production on David Robert Mitchell’s new film, Flowervale Street, for Warner Bros. and Bad Robot, alongside Anne Hathaway.

Apple TV+ is returning to the Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman motorcycle franchise Long Way Up that it revived in 2020 with an untitled show a bit closer to home for McGregor.

He was recently seen starring in the critically acclaimed limited series A Gentleman in Moscow, the adaptation of Amor Towles’ novel of the same name, which he also executive produced. It is a privilege to honor his artistic achievements with a well-earned star on the Walk of Fame,” added Martinez.

Tim Burton is a director and artist, widely regarded as one of cinema’s most imaginative and visual filmmakers. Burton grew up in Burbank, California and attended the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), where he studied character animation. There, he created his early shorts, which attracted the attention of Walt Disney Productions and gained him an apprenticeship at the studio.

In 1982, while at Disney, he directed his first short, Vincent, a 6-minute black-and-white stop motion film based on a poem by Burton and narrated by his hero, Vincent Price. During his time with Disney, he also directed the 1983 kung fu–inspired short film adaptation of Hansel and Gretel, and the 1984 live-action short film Frankenweenie, which would later be remade as a feature-length stop motion film in 2012.

Over the years, Burton has achieved both critical and commercial success in the live-action and animation genres. 2007’s Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street won the Golden Globe for Best Film — Musical or Comedy and earned Burton a National Board of Review award for his directing work. Many of his films—such as Ed Wood (1994), Sleepy Hollow (1999), Big Fish (2003), and Alice in Wonderland (2010)—have garnered numerous Academy Awards, BAFTAs, and Golden Globe nominations and wins, cementing his status as one of the greatest filmmakers of our time.

Burton has a dedicated following, notably for classic features such as his 1985 directorial debut and unexpected comedic hit Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, the wildly inventive Beetlejuice (1988), the action blockbuster Batman (1989), and its follow-up Batman Returns (1992). Perhaps his greatest industry achievement is helping to reinvigorate the stop motion industry, starting with his 1993 creation and cult classic, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, and followed by 2005’s Corpse Bride and 2012’s Frankenweenie, the latter two both Academy Award and BAFTA-nominated films. Arguably, however, his most beloved film is the 1990 romantic fantasy Edward Scissorhands, directed, co-written, and produced by Burton. The film also marked the start of his successful cinematic partnership with Johnny Depp, who delivered a poignant performance in the title role of the quintessential “Burtonesque” film. Most recently, Burton has received international acclaim for his work on the hit TV series Wednesday (2022) and has filmed Beetlejuice Beetlejuice—the highly anticipated sequel to his 1988 feature Beetlejuice—which opens in cinemas nationwide September 6.

Long before becoming a director, Burton expressed himself through drawing, painting, and photography, all of which have become integral parts of his creative process. His extensive library of artworks has been documented in books including the beloved illustrated poetry series, The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories, and The Napkin Art of Tim Burton: Things You Think About in a Bar—a book of sketches, doodled on napkins collected from his travels. It is a look into the mind of a man who is always on the road, ever observant of the strange world around him. The book is a mini-companion to his 2009 release, The Art of Tim Burton, a 430-page volume comprised of more than 40 years of his personal and professional artwork.

Coinciding with the volume’s release, the Museum of Modern Art opened an extensive exhibition of Burton’s work in New York, which went on to tour in Melbourne, Toronto, Los Angeles, Paris, and Seoul. A second exhibition of his artwork, The World of Tim Burton, has traveled to 14 cities around the world, including Tokyo, São Paulo, Mexico City, Seoul, and Torino, and continues to tour internationally.
