BAFTA winner and Oscar®, Tony® and Olivier Award-nominated actor, Jude Law was honored with the 2,798th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, December 12, at 11:30 am PT at 6840 Hollywood Boulevard, next to the El Capitan Theatre and across the street from the world-famous Chinese Theatre. Law received his star in the category of Motion Pictures. Joining emcee Steve Nissen were director David Lowery and actor Jurnee Smollett.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce administers the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame for the City of Los Angeles and has proudly hosted the globally iconic star ceremonies for decades. Millions of people from here and around the world have visited this cultural landmark since the 1960s.

BAFTA winner and Oscar®, Tony® and Olivier Award-nominated actor, Jude Law has worked alongside the most accomplished directors, writers and talent of our time. In a career spanning three decades of distinguished and immersive performances, Law brings a passion and curiosity to his craft both on stage and on screen, whether independent or tent pole productions. Additionally, with Riff Raff Entertainment Ltd., Law has established himself as a producer of note developing material from the ground up stemming from a desire to entertain, challenge and inform through inspired and fresh storytelling.
Upcoming, Law stars in Justin Kurzel’s The Order, produced by Riff Raff, which premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival to critical acclaim. Vertical will release the film exclusively in theatres on December 6. He also stars in the Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew from filmmakers Jon Watts and Chris Ford. Earlier this year, he portrayed Henry VIII in the Roadside Attractions historical thriller Firebrand. He also appears in Ron Howard’s thriller Eden alongside an ensemble cast, which premiered at the Toronto Internation Film festival, and recently wrapped production on the Netflix series Black Rabbit, also executive produced by Riff Raff, in which he stars opposite Jason Bateman.
Law has earned acclaim for his performances in various projects, including a Gotham Award nomination for Best Actor in The Nest (2020) and rave reviews for HBO’s innovative series The Third Day (2020). This groundbreaking drama featured an immersive live-streamed production, demonstrating Law’s commitment to blending theater and film.
Throughout his career, Law has collaborated with renowned filmmakers, including Anthony Minghella, who directed him in The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), earning Law a BAFTA Award and an Oscar nomination. He also starred in Minghella’s Cold Mountain (2003), securing additional nominations across prestigious awards. Law’s collaborations extend to Martin Scorsese in The Aviator (2004) and Hugo (2011), and to Steven Soderbergh in Contagion (2011) and Side Effects (2013).
With box office success totaling billions, Law has played key roles in significant films such as A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), and J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts franchise. He portrayed Albus Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) and its sequels, while also playing Dr. Watson in Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes series, both of which grossed over $500 million worldwide.
Law’s filmography includes a wide array of acclaimed titles such as Gattaca (1997), Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (1997), Closer (2004), and Captain Marvel (2019). Most recently, he portrayed Captain Hook in Peter Pan and Wendy (2023).
As a producer, Riff Raff has backed notable projects like True Things (2022), which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. The company is actively developing several series and films, including Black Rabbit and other projects featuring diverse talent.
In television, Law gained recognition for his role as Archbishop Lenny Belardo in Paolo Sorrentino’s The Young Pope (2016), earning a Golden Globe nomination and an award at the Venice Film Festival. He reprised his role in The New Pope (2020), which he also executive produced.
In the theater, Law is celebrated for his performances, receiving multiple accolades including the Critics’ Circle Theatre Award and a Tony Award nomination for Hamlet (2009). His stage credits also include Obsession (2017), Henry V (2013), and Anna Christie (2012).
In his youth, Law worked with the National Youth Music Theater and has appeared in several productions in the West End and at the National Theater.
