The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce proudly honored the late animal activist Steve Irwin with the 2,635th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today, Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. PDT. The posthumous star was dedicated in the category of Television at 6320 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Iguana Vintage store.

“People from around the world will always remember the animal whisperer Steve Irwin. He was a joy to be around and entertained all with his love and knowledge of the animal kingdom. The Hollywood Walk of Fame is thrilled to pay tribute to this exceptional man,” stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies.

Helping Emcee Leron Gubler, President & CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to unveil the star were Wes Mannion, Director of Australia Zoo and Wildlife Warriors. Accepting the star were Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin. A South American Green Anaconda named Angelina was on hand for the star ceremony!

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce which administers the popular star ceremonies encourages people who are unable to attend and fans around the world to watch the event exclusively on www.walkoffame.com.

Stephen Robert Irwin was born on February 22, 1962, in Ferntree Gully is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. His parents moved to Beerwah, Queensland, where they opened the Beerwah Reptile and Fauna Park in 1970.

Irwin grew up loving all wildlife, especially reptiles. He caught his first venomous snake (a Common Brown) at the tender age of six and would often arrive late to school after convincing his mother to pull over so he could rescue a lizard off the road.

By the time he was nine-years-old, Irwin was helping his dad catch small problem crocodiles hanging around boat ramps by jumping on them in the water and wrestling them back into the dinghy. He always had an uncanny sixth sense when it came to wildlife and he spent his life honing that skill.

In the 1980s, Irwin spent months on end living in the most remote areas of far North Queensland catching problem crocodiles. He worked with his dog, Sui, and developed crocodile capture and management techniques that are now utilized with crocodilians around the world.

By 1980, the family wildlife park was called the Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park. This is where Irwin called home and where he worked countless hours with his mate, Wes Mannion caring for the wildlife and maintaining the grounds.

In 1991 Irwin took over managing the wildlife park. A few months later, he met Terri Raines, a visiting tourist. In June 1992, they were married in Eugene, Oregon.

Instead of a honeymoon, the couple embarked on filming a wildlife documentary with John Stainton from the Best Picture Show company. The show was so successful that it turned into a series and “The Crocodile Hunter” was born. The TV series became an internationally broadcast wildlife documentary hit which Irwin co-hosted with wife Terri.

Irwin worked tirelessly to improve and expand the wildlife park. Renaming it Australia Zoo in 1998, Irwin’s vision for the world’s best zoo was coming to fruition. In July 2006, Irwin set out his ten-year business plan for his beloved zoo. Tragically, Irwin passed two months later but he knew in his heart that his conservation work would go on with the help of his family.

On May 5th, Wildlife Warriors around the world will converge on the SLS Hotel – Beverly Hills for the Steve Irwin Gala Dinner, celebrating the life and legacy of the Crocodile Hunter.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce proudly to announce that singer and actress Mary J. Blige was honored today with the 2,626th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 11:30 a.m. PST. The star was dedicated in the category of Recording at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard in front of Eastown.

“Mary J. Blige is one of the most popular singers of our generation. Fans will be thrilled to see her star on the Boulevard as her career milestones are celebrated on this very famous sidewalk,” stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies.

Helping Emcee and Hollywood Chamber President/CEO Leron Gubler to unveil the star were guest speakers Sean “Diddy” Combs and Andre Harrell.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce which administers the popular star ceremonies encourages people who are unable to attend and fans around the world to watch the event exclusively on www.walkoffame.com.

The iconic Grammy® Award-winning and Golden Globe nominated singer, songwriter, actress and philanthropist, Mary J. Blige is a figure of inspiration, transformation and empowerment making her one of the defining voices of the contemporary music era. With a track record in the music realm of eight multi-platinum albums, nine Grammy® Awards (with a staggering 32 nominations) and worldwide sales of more than 50-million albums. Blige ventured into acting where she has already received nominations for a 2018 Golden Globe, a 2018 SAG Award and a 2018 Critic’s Choice Award all for Best Supporting Actress recognizing her work in the Netflix film “Mudbound” opposite Carey Mulligan and Garrett Hedlund. The film premiered to rave reviews last year at Sundance and is now available to stream on Netflix.

Born in the Bronx, New York, Blige began moving people with her soulful voice when at 18 she signed with Uptown Records in 1989, becoming the MCA-distributed label’s youngest and first female artist. Influenced at an early age by the music of Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan and Gladys Knight, Blige brought her own gritty, urban-rooted style—fusing hip-hop, soul and honest, frank lyrics—to the forefront on her 1992 debut album What’s the 411? The multi-platinum set, executive produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs, quickly spun off several hits, including two R&B No. 1s: You Remind Me and Real Love.

Blige helped redefine R&B and began forging a unique niche for herself on the more personal second album, 1994’s My Life. Blige is an artist who uses her gift of song to lift spirits and touch lives while bringing her heart, soul and truth to those who are willing to listen. She is loved for her passionate, chart-topping hits like “Be Without You”, “No More Drama” and “Family Affair” all of which have made her a force in music.

And so began the Blige movement: connecting legions of fans who identify with and have accompanied her throughout her personal travails and growth—all fearlessly related through her music. Each subsequent album reads like a chapter from an autobiography: Share My World (1997), Mary (1999), No More Drama(2001), Love & Life (2003), the multiple Grammy-winning and hit-spewing The Breakthrough(2005), Growing Pains (2007) and Stronger with Each Tear (2009). Along the way, she’s lined up a string of hit singles, including Not Gon’ Cry, Love Is All We Need, Seven Days, All That I Can Say, Family Affair and Just Fine.

In October 2013, Blige for Matriarch Records/Verve Records/Interscope Records released her first-ever holiday album titled, A Mary Christmas in collaboration with legendary producer, David Foster. The holiday album features Blige’s soulful interpretation of such classic holiday tunes as Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, and The Christmas Song. Blige is joined by several A-list guests such as Barbra Streisand, and performs duets with Jessie J, The Clark Sisters and includes a Spanish language   collaboration with Mark Anthony.

Blige, who co-penned I Can See in Color for 2009’s “Precious” soundtrack, has branched out into acting. She appeared in Tyler Perry’s dramatic comedy, “I Can Do Bad All By Myself” in 2009 and starred in “Rock Of Ages,” alongside Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand in 2012. Taking on a more dramatic role, in 2013, she starred as Betty Shabazz in the TV movie “Betty & Coretta,” a biographical story about the widows of Malcom X and Martin Luther King Jr. In November 2013, Blige starred as the mysterious guardian angel Platinum Fro in the holiday musical film drama “Black Nativity.” Ramping up her acting career, Blige has guest-starred on the ABC’s Black-Ish and How to Get Away with Murder, the FOX musical drama Empire and was seen playing Evillene, the Wicked Witch of the West, on the NBC musical, The Wiz Live!

In 2014, Blige released her 13th studio album, The London Sessions, which reached the No.1 position on the Top R&B Albums chart and included a behind-the-scene documentary of her recording sessions thatpremiered at the Tribeca Film Festival 2015.

Earlier in 2017 Blige completed The King and Queen of Hearts World Tour with Maxwell, and released her 14th album titled Strength of a Woman. Her first single off the album, “Thick of It,” held the No. 1 spot on the Urban AC Chart for 16 consecutive weeks after its release.

Helping Emcee Jeff Zarrinnam, Hollywood Chamber Chairman of the Board to unveil the star were actress Tiziana Rocca, Steven Gaydos, Consul General of Italy Antonio Verde and Roberto Stabile from the Office of the Minister of Italian Culture.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce which administers the popular star ceremonies encourages people who are unable to attend and fans around the world to watch the event exclusively on www.walkoffame.com.

Tomorrow, Lollobrigida will be honored by The Festival Filming On Italy, directed by Tiziana Rocca and the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles, directed by Valeria Rumori, which will dedicate an entire day to celebrate Gina Lollobrigida’s career with the screening of two of her most famous films.  She will be honored for her career with the Filming On Italy Life Achievement Award which will be presented by actor Danny Huston. The event will be held at the Italian Cultural Institute at 6 p.m.

Born Luigina Lollobrigida in Subiaco, Italy, the large brown eyed child who experienced hunger and war at a very young age grew to become a young brunette with a seductive deep voice and a screen legend!

In her youth, Lollobrigida did some modelling and participated successfully in several beauty contests. At around this time, she began appearing in Italian films in minor roles.

In 1945, at age 18, she played a part in the comedy Santarellina by Eduardo Scarpetta at the Teatro della Concordia of Monte Castello di Vibio.

In 1947, Lollobrigida entered the Miss Italia pageant and came in third place and gained national exposure.

In 1950, Howard Hughes invited Lollobrigida to work in Hollywood, but she refused and preferring to remain in Europe. This decision prevented her from working in American movies filmed in the U.S. until 1959, though not from working in American productions shot in Europe. Her performance in “Bread, Love and Dreams” (Pane, amore e fantasia, 1953) led to her receiving a BAFTA nomination, and won a Nastro d’Argento award. Lollobrigida also appeared in “The Wayward Wife” (1953) and in “Woman of Rome” (1954). These were three of her most renowned Italian films, but she worked also in the French industry on such films as “Fearless Little Soldier” (Fanfan la Tulipe, 1952), Beauties of the Night (Les Belles de nuit, 1952) and “Le Grand Jeu” (1954).

Lollobrigida’s first widely-seen English language film was “Beat the Devil” (1953), which was shot in Italy. Directed by John Huston, she played the wife of Humphrey Bogart, with Jennifer Jones as her rival. She then took part in the Italian-American production “Crossed Swords” (1954), co-starring with Errol Flynn. Her appearance in “The World’s Most Beautiful Woman” (also known as Beautiful But Dangerous, 1955) led to her receiving the first David di Donatello for Best Actress award; in this film she interpreted the Italian soprano Lina Cavalieri, singing some arias from Tosca with her own voice. Lollobrigida had the principal female lead in the circus drama “Trapeze” (1956) directed by Carol Reed co-starring with Burt Lancaster and Tony Curtis. In “The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1956) directed by Jean Delannoy, she appeared as Esmeralda with Anthony Quinn as Quasimodo.

In 1959, she appeared in the French movie “The Law,” alongside Yves Montand and Marcello Mastroianni. She then co-starred with Frank Sinatra in “Never So Few” (1959), and with Yul Brynner in “Solomon and Sheba” (1959).

In the romantic comedy “Come September” (1961), Lollobrigida had a leading role along with Rock Hudson, for which she won a Golden Globe Award. She appeared, also in 1961, with Ernest Borgnine and Anthony Franciosa in the drama “Go Naked in the World.”

Lollobrigida worked again with director Jean Delannoy in “Venere Imperiale” (1962). She co-starred with Stephen Boyd  and received Nastro d’Argento and David di Donatello awards. She co-starred with Sean Connery in the thriller “Woman of Straw” (1964), with Rock Hudson again in “Strange Bedfellows” (1965) and appeared with Alec Guinness in “Hotel Paradiso” (1966).

She starred in “Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell” (1968) with Shelley Winters, Phil Silvers, Peter Lawford and Telly Savalas. For this role, she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and won a third David di Donatello award. Lollobrigida co-starred with Bob Hope in the comedy “The Private Navy of Sgt. O’Farrell” and also accompanied Hope on his visits to military troops overseas.

As her film roles and national popularity increased, Lollobrigida was tagged “The Most Beautiful Woman in the World,” after her signature movie “Beautiful But Dangerous” (1955). Lollobrigida was nicknamed la ‘Lollo,’ as she embodied the model of Italian beauty. Her earthy looks and short hairdo were especially influential

In 1972, she appeared in “King, Queen, Knave,” co-starring with David Niven.

In 1984, she starred in the popular television series Falcon Crest as Francesca Gioberti, a role originally written for Sophia Loren, who had turned it down. For that role, she received a third Golden Globe nomination. She also had a supporting role in the 1985 television miniseries Deceptions, co-starring with Stefanie Powers. The following year she appeared as guest star in the TV series The Love Boat.

In 1970s, Lollobrigida had embarked on a successful second career as a photographic journalist. She photographed, among others, Paul Newman, Salvador Dalí, Henry Kissinger, David Cassidy, Audrey Hepburn, Ella Fitzgerald and the German national football team. In 1973, a collection of her work was published under the title Italia Mia.

Along with photography, Lollobrigida had several successful art shows showcasing her dynamic, strong and expressive sculptures. Through her art, Lollobrigida supported causes such as UNICEF and Doctors Without Borders.

In 1985, she was nominated as an Officier of Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by Jack Lang for her achievements in photography and sculpture. She was also awarded the Légion d’honneur by François Mitterrand.

In 1999, Lollobrigida was nominated Goodwill Ambassador of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

In 2013, Lollobrigida sold her jewelry collection through Sotheby’s, and donated nearly $5-million proceeds of that sale to benefit stem cell therapy.

Patinkin has appeared in many feature films,  including “Ali and Nino,” “The Queen of Spain,” “Wish I Was Here,” “Pinero,” “The Adventures of Elmo In Grouchland,” “The Princess Bride,” “Yentl,” “The Music of Chance,” “Daniel,” “Ragtime,” “Impromptu,” “The Doctor,” “Alien Nation,” “Dick Tracy,” “The House on Carroll Street,” “True Colors,” and “Maxie.” He has also lent his voice to numerous animated films, most recently “Smurfs: The Lost Village.”  Most recently, Patinkin can be seen in the hit movie “Wonder” playing ‘Mr. Tushman.’ “Wonder” is currently available on Digital and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD February 13.  He also recently wrapped “Life Itself,” which is expected to be released in the fall of 2018.

As a recording artist on CBS Records, Patinkin released two solo albums, Mandy Patinkin and Mandy Patinkin In Concert: Dress Casual.  On the Nonesuch label, Mandy has recorded Experiment, Oscar & Steve, Leonard Bernstein’s New York, Kidults and Mandy Patinkin Sings Sondheim. In 1998 he debuted his most personal project, Mamaloshen, a collection of traditional, classic and contemporary songs sung entirely in Yiddish. The recording of Mamaloshen won the Deutschen Schallplattenpreis, Germany’s equivalent of the Grammy Award.

Together, Patinkin and the International Rescue Committee are on a mission to bring attention to the global refugee crisis—the greatest upheaval of humanity since World War II. Patinkin visited Greece with the IRC in November 2015, where he met families who had fled Syria and other war-torn countries—people he did not see as strangers to be feared but the faces and stories of his own family. A passionate supporter of refugee rights, he has since traveled to Serbia and Germany with the humanitarian organization to bear witness to the ongoing crisis.
