ABOUT OUR HONOREE
“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Air Supply to the Hollywood Walk of Fame," stated Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer. For more than 50 years, Air Supply has created a timeless musical legacy that has touched generations of fans around the world. We are thrilled to honor Graham and Russell with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and celebrate the enduring love and connection their music has inspired” added Martinez
For 50 years, Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock—known to millions of fans worldwide as Air Supply—have captivated audiences with soaring harmonies, timeless love songs, and an unmistakable blend of pop and rock.
The duo marked its golden anniversary on May 13, 2025, with a sold-out debut at Carnegie Hall—its 5,560th concert. The celebration came 50 years after Russell and Hitchcock first met on May 12, 1975, during rehearsals for the Australian touring production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
Air Supply’s signature hits include “Lost in Love,” “All Out of Love,” “Every Woman in the World,” “The One That You Love,” “Here I Am,” “Sweet Dreams,” and “Making Love Out of Nothing at All.” The duo matched The Beatles’ run of five consecutive Top Five singles and sold a combined 20 million copies of its first three international albums—Lost in Love, The One That You Love, and Now and Forever—and its 1983 Greatest Hits collection.
Five Air Supply songs have achieved multi-million radio plays, and Russell received a BMI Million-Air Certificate recognizing three million performances of “All Out of Love.” The group continues to perform approximately 130 dates a year throughout North America and around the world.
Among its most memorable international milestones, Air Supply became the first Western group to tour China and performed for an estimated 175,000 people in Havana, Cuba in 2005. The duo has also appeared at the Hollywood Bowl and Sydney Opera House and performed for Prince Charles and Princess Diana during Australia’s bicentennial celebration in 1988.
After meeting in Jesus Christ Superstar, Russell and Hitchcock began performing in Sydney’s pizza parlors, coffee bars, and nightclubs with one guitar and two voices. Their close harmonies and Russell’s original songs quickly attracted attention. “Love and Other Bruises” became an Australian hit, and a tour opening for Rod Stewart introduced the duo to audiences in Australia, Canada, and the United States.
The turning point came with “Lost in Love,” first released on the 1979 album Life Support. The song caught the attention of Arista Records president Clive Davis, who signed Air Supply and released the duo’s U.S. debut album, also titled Lost in Love. The title track reached No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart and No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100; “All Out of Love” followed at No. 2.
Through changing musical eras, Air Supply remained a prolific recording and touring act. Its catalog includes The Earth Is …, The Vanishing Race, News from Nowhere, The Book of Love, Yours Truly, Across the Concrete Sky, the acoustic collection The Singer and the Song, and the orchestral live album The Lost in Love Experience.
Air Supply is commemorating its anniversary with new projects across music, film, theater, and publishing. These include the biopic All Out of Love: The Air Supply Story, the Broadway comedy-drama musical Lost in Love, a forthcoming autobiography and the duo’s 18th studio album, A Matter of Time, produced by Brian Howes. A special vinyl compilation of remastered hits is also planned.
On tour, Russell and Hitchcock are joined by a powerhouse ensemble featuring musical director Mirko Tessandori on piano, keyboards and vocals; Pavel Valdman on drums; Doug Gild on bass; and cellists Jessika Soli and Kat Findlay.
They have been actively engaged in support of hospitals and schools in Jamaica, donating 100% of concert proceeds to fund children’s hospitals and rural schools. They are also spokespersons for wildlife charities to protect our oceans and bird sanctuaries.
