ABOUT OUR HONOREE

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Greg Daniels to the Hollywood Walk of Fame," stated Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer. “Greg Daniels has had an extraordinary impact on television and popular culture through his remarkable creativity, wit, and ability to tell stories that resonate with audiences around the world. We are thrilled to honor his incredible career with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, celebrating a true visionary whose work has brought generations of viewers laughter, inspiration, and unforgettable characters.” - Ana Martinez, Hollywood Walk of Fame Producer

Greg Daniels is a five-time Emmy-award-winning writer, director, producer, and creator of many iconic series and characters.

Daniels is best known for developing and running The Office for American television.  A number one comedy for NBC, The Office was the number one streamed show of any genre between 2016 and 2020 which was responsible for 7.5% of Netflix’s total views during that time.

Of the highest-rated sitcom episodes ever on IMDb, there are four tied at number one: two are Office episodes and Daniels wrote both.  Last year, for Peacock, he co-created with Michael Koman the Office spin-off, The Paper, starring Domhnall Gleason and Sabrina Impacciatore, which Esquire called “f**king hilarious.” Season two of The Paper drops all episodes on September 9, 2026.

He co-created the classic animated series King of the Hill with Mike Judge in 1997, and developed the new seasons with Judge and Saladin Patterson.  Season 15 just dropped with a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, and the series has been watched over a billion hours on Hulu and Disney+. It's been picked up for an additional two seasons.

Daniels also created Upload, the most watched half-hour show ever on Prime Video, and co-created the long-running hit Parks and Recreation, Netflix’s Space Force, and the international reality format My Mum, Your Dad. He learned to direct by directing the voices and giving notes on storyboards in the early seasons of King of the Hill. Daniels directed the pilots of Parks and Recreation, The Paper, Upload, People of Earth, and over a dozen episodes of The Office.  On all scripted shows he has created or co-created, he was the initial showrunner.

Recently Daniels teamed back up with Mike Judge to start Bandera Entertainment, which produces animated shows for Peacock, Netflix, Freeform, and Comedy Central, including the award-winning hit, Common Side Effects on Adult Swim and Max, and the new seasons of King of the Hill.

Early in his career, Daniels wrote for The Simpsons, Seinfeld, and Saturday Night Live, where he met his wife, Susanne, who became a network president and developed and put on the air Gilmore Girls, Cobra Kai, Dawson’s Creek, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and literally hundreds of other quality shows.  In the evenings, they enjoy reading together— nah, don’t be ridiculous, they watch TV.

Greg and Susanna Daniels support Children’s Hospital LA; British Columbia Children’s Hospital; the UCLA Center for Scholars and Storytellers; the American Repertory Theater (nonprofit); UCLA’s Ronald Reagan Hospital; and Girls, Inc, among other causes.
