The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce that Jennifer Lopez was honored today with a commemorative star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. “In 1994, Sophia Loren became the recipient of the 2,000th star on the Walk of Fame,” stated Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies. “This ceremony marks the 2,500th star on our famous Walk and Jennifer Lopez was the obvious choice! Fans from across the world were thrilled to experience this spectacular star ceremony.”
Emcee Leron Gubler, President & CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and guest speakers, Gregory Nava, Pitbull, Jane Fonda and Benny Medina helped Lopez unveil the 2,500th Star in the Category of Recording in the midst of colorful confetti at 6262 Hollywood Boulevard in front of W Hollywood Hotel as fans around the world watch the live-streaming exclusively on www.walkoffame.com. Lopez was surrounded by many family and famous friends on her special day.
The star bears a brass dedication to mark the special occasion.

And, the music video is THE most-watched music video by any female artist in the history of YouTube, with views exceeding 673-million.
An acclaimed actress, Lopez was recently seen co-starring opposite Jason Stratham in an adaptation of the crime/thriller literary series “Parker,” directed by Taylor Hackford. She made her feature film debut in the highly-acclaimed “Mi Familia,” which garnered her an Independent Spirit Award-nomination for her role as the young mother Maria Sanchez. Lopez earned widespread acclaim for her work in the title role of “Selena,” which brought her a Golden Globe Award-nomination. The original series for ABC Family is a compelling, one-hour drama about a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms. The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an internationally-recognized Hollywood icon. With approximately 24 star ceremonies annually broadcast around the world, the constant reinforcement provided to the public has made the Walk of Fame a top visitor attraction. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce continues to add stars to the Walk of Fame as the representative of the City of Los Angeles. No paid admission or assigned seating at star ceremonies.It is understood that the cost of installing a star on the Walk of Fame upon approval is $30,000 and the sponsor of the nominee accepts the responsibility for arranging for payment to the Hollywood Historic Trust, a 501(c)3 charitable foundation. The funds are used to pay for the creation/installation of the star and ceremony, as well as maintenance of the Walk of Fame.
