Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons were honored today with the 2,780^th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6150 Hollywood Boulevard. The group was honored with a star in the category of Recording. Frankie Valli accepted the star on behalf of Bob Gaudio who was not able to attend and the late Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi.

Bob Gaudio sent a message accepting the honor and it read: “When I was a kid, playing in a band was a dream. Having a show on Broadway was a bigger dream and now, a star on Hollywood Boulevard! Come on! ‘Only in America’ is an understatement.  So, THANK YOU ALL FOR LETTING US REACH YOU WITH OUR MUSIC. And a personal note to my partner forever, Mr. Valli, for still doing the heavy lifting.” – BG

The Four Seasons was formed in 1960 in Newark, New Jersey. Since 1970, they have been known as Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. The lead singer is Valli, Bob Gaudio on keyboards and tenor vocals, Tommy DeVito on lead guitar and baritone vocals, and Nick Massi on bass guitar and bass vocals.

The original Jersey boy, Frankie Valli, is a true American legend. His incredible career with The Four Seasons and his solo success has spawned countless hit singles, with unforgettable tunes like “Sherry”, “Walk Like A Man”, “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, “Rag Doll”, “December ’63 – Oh What A Night”, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You”, and of course “Grease”.

His songs have been omnipresent in other iconic movies such as “The Deer Hunter”, “Dirty Dancing”, “Mrs. Doubtfire”, “Conspiracy Theory”, and “The Wanderers”. Over 200 artists have done cover versions of Frankie’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” from Nancy Wilson’s jazz treatment to Lauryn Hill’s hip-hop makeover.

Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons have sold over 175 million records worldwide. Valli’s long-lasting career has led to the overwhelming success of the Broadway musical JERSEY BOYS. The musical chronicles Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons’ incredible career and features all of their greatest hits.

The JERSEY BOYS juggernaut has now been seen by over 18 million people worldwide, won 4 Tony Awards including Best Musical (2006), and is currently playing in New York, Las Vegas, London, in cities across the U.S. on a National Tour and The Netherlands, and will open soon in Korea. It is the 15th longest-running show in Broadway history, having given over 3,250 performances and recently passing “Fiddler on the Roof”, “Hello Dolly!”, “The Producers”, “Hairspray”, “My Fair Lady”, and “Oklahoma”.

In 2014, Frankie Valli’s life story was again featured in the film adaptation of JERSEY BOYS, directed by Academy Award-winning director Clint Eastwood. In Rob Reiner’s romantic comedy, “And So It Goes”, Valli also returned to acting. The film starred Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton and was released on July 18, 2014. Frankie recently appeared in this past season of “Hawaii 5-0”, and his mega-hit BIG GIRLS DON’T CRY was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2015. On May 18, 2015, Dan Rather profiled the legend for his series, The Big Interview, and Valli also participated in the AMC series, “The Making of the Mob”.

In 2016, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons appeared on Broadway in a limited engagement from October 21 through October 29 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Frankie Valli released TIS THE SEASONS, a holiday album, on October 14, 2016, on Rhino. His first-ever foray into jazz, the meticulously crafted album titled ‘A Touch of Jazz’ was released on June 25, 2021, marking a bold departure from his familiar pop sound. Showcasing Valli’s unparalleled vocal range and emotive delivery, the album reimagines classic jazz standards with his own distinctive flair, earning widespread praise from critics and music aficionados alike. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honored rocker Sammy Hagar with the 2,779th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, April 30, at 11:30 am PT at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard. Hagar received his star in the category of Recording. Speakers joining emcee Guy Fieri were John Mayer and Tom Consolo, Hagar’s longtime manager.

“Charles Fox’s contributions to the music industry are undeniable, and it is the honor of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to immortalize his legacy on the iconic Walk of Fame,” stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  “His star will be located in front of the Musician’s Institute and just a few feet away from his late friends: Composer Jerry Goldsmith and Songwriter Hal David!” added Martinez.

Songwriter Hall of Fame inductee, composer, conductor and pianist, Charles Fox, composed the music for more than 100 films, including the classics, Barbarella, Nine To Five and Goodbye Columbus, and theme songs for many iconic TV series including Happy Days; Laverne & Shirley; Love, American Style; Wonder Woman and The Love Boat, as well as “ABC Wide World of Sports” and Monday Night Football.

Twice nominated for an Oscar and a two-time Emmy winner, Fox also wrote the Grammy Award-winning song, “Killing Me Softly with His Song” as well as Jim Croce’s, “I Got A Name” and Barry Manilow’s, “Ready To Take A Chance Again”, among other hits.

Fox has composed numerous symphonic concert and chamber music works as well as ballets for the San Francisco Ballet, the Dance Theater of Harlem and the Smuin Ballet which recently premiered his, Salsa Till Dawn and the forthcoming revival of his Zorro ballet.

The documentary of his life and music entitled, “Killing Me Softly with his Songs,” is being released on April 2 and Fox will be performing a concert of his music from the film at Vibrato Jazz Club on April 11.

His original manuscripts for his scores and songs are part of the permanent collection of the CHARLES FOX LETTERS in the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS.

Charles Fox is dedicated to music education and giving back to the community and his music community.  Every year for over a decade, Charles Fox produced an annual concert benefiting the Fulfillment Fund, an organization that mentors and provides yearly scholarships for 2,000 high school and college students in economically challenged areas of Los Angeles. The concerts, entitled, “The Songs of our Lives” featured legendary songwriters of the second half of the 20th century performing their own songs.  Some of the legendary songwriters who appeared in the concerts include Burt Bacharach, Jeff Barry, Carole Bayer Sager, Alan and Marilyn Bergman, Stephen Bishop, Bob Crewe, David Crosby, Hal David, Mac Davis, Lamont Dozier, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, David Foster, Norman Gimbel, Leiber & Stoller, Kenny Loggins, Melissa Manchester, Sergio Mendes, Neil Sedaka, Richard Sherman, Paul Williams and Bill Withers.

Additionally, Charles Fox endowed a yearly scholarship in musical composition to La Guardia High School of the Arts, NYC.

He has also given Master Classes in music composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston and NYU in New York.   He is an Ambassador for The Society of Composers & Lyricists.

Martha Reeves has made her imprint in the history books and in pop culture for her string of hit Motown songs in the 1960’s and early 1970’s including such hits as “Dancing in the Street,” “My Baby Loves Me”, “Come and Get These Memories”, “Nowhere to Run”, “Quick Sand”, “(Love is Like a) Heatwave,” “Jimmy Mack” and “Bless You,”  Martha was front and center as the lead singer of the legendary Motown girl group, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas.

During the 1970’s and 1980’s Martha recorded as a solo artist releasing a handful of critically acclaimed albums on the MCA, Fantasy, Phonarama and ARISTA labels.  Her first solo album in 1974, the self-titled classic was produced by legendary record producer, Richard Perry.

While born in Alabama, Reeves moved to Detroit with her family as a baby and has become a fixture in the Motor City.  She even served as an elected councilwoman for the city from 2005 to 2009.  In 2007 she fought to rename the road in front of Hitsville USA on West Grand Blvd. (Now the Motown Museum) Berry Gordy Jr. Boulevard after Motown’s founder.

Martha continues to perform concerts and club dates both solo and with the Vandellas (currently her sisters, Lois and Delphine).  Martha and the Vandellas were Grammy nominated in 1964 for Best R&B Performance for their hit, “Heat Wave”.  In 1999, “Dancing in the Street” was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.  She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and is also the recipient of the Dinah Washington Award, a Rhythm n’ Blues Foundation Pioneer Award, a Black Woman in Publishing Legends Award, and has been inducted in the Alabama Soul, Rock and Roll and Vocal Group Hall of Fame.  Martha Reeves and the Vandellas are listed among Rolling Stone magazine’s 100 Immortal Artists of all time.

2023 marked Martha’s 60^th anniversary of her first two albums with Motown both from 1963, “Come and Get These Memories” and “Heat Wave”.

Reeves has been actively involved in charity work with the Shriners and Boys Town, demonstrating her dedication to making a positive impact on the community through her philanthropic endeavors.

“Dr. Dre’s contributions to the music industry are undeniable and have left an indelible mark on popular culture. As a producer, rapper, and entrepreneur, Dr. Dre has continuously pushed boundaries and set new standards for excellence. It is with great pride that we honor his incredible career and extraordinary impact by awarding him a star on the Walk of Fame. “Dr. Dre’s star will serve as a lasting symbol of his immense talent and enduring legacy in the world of music, “stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  “What is special regarding the location chosen for Dr. Dre’s star is that it will be next to the star of his long-time friend Snoop Dogg!,” added Martinez.

Nine-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist, producer, founder, and CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and Beats Electronics, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Dr. Dre began his career as a member of the World Class Wreckin’ Cru. Shortly after, he co-founded the revolutionary group N.W.A. N.W.A became the fifth hip-hop group to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (2016) and the group were recently honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award (2024). The Compton, California native embarked on his solo career in 1992 when he released his solo debut album The Chronic, which has been certified triple platinum by the RIAA, reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200, and won a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance (“Let Me Ride”).

Dr. Dre launched Aftermath Entertainment in 1996, where over the years he discovered hip-hop superstars such as Eminem, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, and Anderson .Paak. Jimmy Iovine and Dre established Beats Electronics in 2006 and later launched Beats Music – Apple acquired both in 2014. In 2017, HBO released a four-part documentary, The Defiant Ones, chronicling the life and relationship of Iovine and Dre throughout the years and how they have shaped some of the more exciting moments in pop culture. Among many other accolades, Dr. Dre won a GRAMMY and an Emmy for The Defiant Ones.

In 2013 the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation was funded and established. In 2022, they expanded their efforts to the Los Angeles Unified School District opening the Iovine and Young Center (IYC) Integrated Design, Technology, and Entrepreneurship (IDTE) Magnet, a new high school that will offer students grounding in the same cutting-edge curriculum.

Dre donated 10 million dollars to Compton High School for the school’s new performing arts center which broke ground In 2022. The facility is named the “Andre ‘Dr. Dre’ Young Performing Arts Center,” according to the Compton Unified School District.

In 2022, Dr. Dre collaborated with Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar on the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show at Sofi Stadium, which took home three Emmys including a win for Outstanding Variety Special, the one and only time the Super Bowl halftime show has won an Emmy in that category.

In 2023, the Recording Academy and Black Music Collective created the inaugural Dr. Dre Global Impact Award to celebrate his trailblazing achievements in music.

This past February, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg launched Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop, the first ready-to-drink product from their new premium spirits company. The brand will be announcing more offerings in the future.

Lenny Kravitz was recently honored with the “Music Icon Award” at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards and was also nominated as a 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. He was recently recognized by the CFDA with their “Fashion Icon Award” for his role as not only one of rock’s most esteemed musicians but also a major fashion influence.

In 2023, Kravitz debuted the anthemic “Road To Freedom,” a song he wrote, performed, and produced specifically for the much-buzzed-about Netflix film, Rustin. The track, which can be heard HERE, plays over the film’s end title credits. In conjunction with the release of the song, Kravitz secured a Golden Globe nomination for “Best Original Song – Motion Picture”, a Critics Choice Award nomination for “Best Song”, and the Guild of Music Supervisors Award nomination for “Best Song Written and/or Recorded for a Film” for the soul-stirring anthem.

In addition to his eleven albums, which have sold 40 million worldwide, his creative firm Kravitz Design Inc. touts an impressive portfolio of noteworthy ventures, including hotel properties, condominium projects, private residences, and high-end legendary brands like Rolex, Leica, and Dom Perignon. In 2022, he launched his own ultra-premium spirits brand, Nocheluna Sotol—a distillate from Chihuahua, Mexico derived from the sotol plant. Kravitz is the author of Flash, a book that showcases unique rock photography. His recent memoir, Let Love Rule, also landed him on The New York Times Best Sellers List. Kravitz currently serves as the brand ambassador and global face for YSL Beauty’s Y cologne and is the global ambassador for luxury watch brand Jaeger-LeCoultre.

This multidimensional artist has also segued into film, appearing as Cinna in the box-office hits, The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and in the critically acclaimed films Precious and The Butler.

Lenny Kravitz is set to release his highly anticipated new studio album, Blue Electric Light, on May 24, 2024.

Truly a consistent light, Kravitz also works diligently to spread good internationally through his Let Love Rule Foundation. Let Love Rule Foundation has a longstanding partnership with Glo Good Foundation to bring free dental care clinics and education to the underserved in The Bahamas.  They have also dedicated support to providing Bahamians suffering from food insecurity during the pandemic as well as rebuilding efforts from Hurricane Dorian in 2019. Kravitz’s steadfast activism has also included partnerships with UN Human Rights, UNICEF, MusiCares, and Global Citizen.
