“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Bill Nye to the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” stated Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer. “His star is a tribute to his dedication in making science accessible and entertaining for all ages through his iconic educational show,” added Martinez.
Bill Nye is a science educator, engineer, comedian, television presenter, inventor, keynote speaker and New York Times bestselling author. As the co-creator and host of the Emmy Award-winning 90’s television series Bill Nye the Science Guy, Nye helped introduce generations of viewers to science and engineering in an entertaining and accessible manner, fostering an understanding and appreciation for the science that makes our world work.
Nye is a respected champion of scientific literacy who has challenged opponents of evidence-based education and policy on climate change, evolution and critical thinking.

In addition to his role as a science educator, Nye is passionate about spreading awareness of Ataxia, the rare degenerative conditions of the nervous system that affects his family, and furthering research efforts to better understand it.
